The 'radical' fringe that disapproves of Obama seems to have gotten a lot bigger

You get used to hearing it in the not-so-mainstream press. Those nasty tea-partiers, the birthers, the stooges for the drug companies - you know, all those that don't like what Obama is doing. We are characterized as the 'radical right', full of 'hate', too dumb to know what is good for us. Always described as a 'small' fringe group.


Well, a funny thing happened on the way to the Politburo.




Seems that the American people are not enthralled with President Impostor anymore. Not that anyone in the press cares. They are convinced that we are gullible and getting fooled by the banks, insurance companies, and lobbyists.

Obama - the great Divider

Well I guess it was only a matter of time. Our vaunted President has sunk to a new low. In the video below, he expresses,with surprising frankness who he is interested in in the upcoming elections 'young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women'.

I guess John Edwards was right after all - there are two Americas. The group above that Obama cares about - and then everyone else. And, though he did not say it, I am sure he meant to say 'liberal' in front of each of those. Because I doubt he is interested in hearing from my conservative, female friends.



Folks, this is not a good thing. Whatever happened to appealing to the best of our natures? To trying to inspire us. In short, to lead. What happened to trying to be the President of all the people?

He took his obligatory swipe at 'wall street' and the banks and the special interests. (Of course, he IS keeping the roughly one million dollars Goldman Sachs donated to his campaign - even after it was announced they are under investigation. So, he must not be TOO outraged.) He leads one to believe if you oppose him - you must be part of that evil cabal. Forget about the 60% of the that oppose health care reform and Cap and Trade. No - that cannot be real opposition, it must have been ginned up by the evil lobbyists.

Has he just written off anyone not on that list? Oh wait - that list only excluded white men. I guess he figures if he can hook the rest - the white men can just go piss off? Except the tree hugging liberal white men - they would vote for anyone with a 'D' behind their name.

We tried for months to warn you who this guy really was. Can you hear us now?

And - you are surprised?

This article details the increase in threats against Congress folks (most of whom supported the Health Care takeover).

Now, we should say clearly - We oppose this type of behavior. Threats like this have no place in our system.

Having said that - should one be surprised at this? I mean look - We are supposed to have a form of government where our elected representatives should carry out something at least vaguely resembling our collective desires. Now true - we elected these idiots. Obama won on his hope and change nonsense. Sure - people wanted change - but did they want THIS kind of 'change'? It appears not.

When the Health Care overhaul finally passed - 60+% of Americans opposed it. And the majority that opposed it 'strongly' did so. Congress's response to the collective opinion was 'stick it'. They did what they damned well pleased.

Now we have Congress-people like that idiot Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D.-Fla.), detailed in this article , running around trying to tell us there is not 'mandate' that people buy health insurance. This in spite of the fact that “REQUIREMENT TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE" appears in the language of the bill. So, not only did they ignore us before the vote - they feel compelled to lie to us afterwards.

Plus we are seeing stories that our respected Representatives are not having open Town Hall meetings anymore. Instead, they opt for tightly controlled 'round-tables'. Why? Because they are tired of the riff-raff (that would be us) coming and yelling at them about running roughshod over the Constitution and our opinions.

So, with that back-drop - can one be surprised that a few nut-jobs start talking in threatening language?

We will have our chance again in November to 'remind' them of our opinions and desires in November. I just hope to God they start listening.

If not, at some point, if they keep moving us towards bigger and bigger government - someone will take seriously the words of another 'nut-job' from history. Thomas Jefferson wrote, in our own Declaration of Independence: ....That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, -That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government...

A measure of the Panic in Washington..

We have written about Charlie Rangel before here and here. For those who may not know, Charlie is a Democratic CongressCritter from New York. He is Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee. This is the committee that writes our tax laws. So, he is a pretty big deal.

Well, we actually should say he 'was' the chairman. He recently was found by the House Ethics committee to have committed various violations of House rules. Now, for a Republican, this would have meant instant pressure from all quarters to step aside. But, when you are a Democrat, it is different. Speaker Pelosi decided to leave Rangel in place - unless the ethics committee found something 'else'. So much for her promise to 'drain the swamp' and have the 'most ethical congress ever'.

But, that was yesterday. Today it seems the heat is so bad in Washington for the Democrats that Rangel was, in fact, forced to step down. Now, he said it was voluntary. Wait...let me find it.. there... I know you can't see it, but I just threw the bullshit flag for that assertion.

Rangel would NEVER voluntarily step aside. His post, next to the Speaker of the House, was the most powerful in the House. He had free hand to write tax law (which, of course, he freely ignored as it applied to him). This power made him a very popular guy with lobbyists trying to persuade him. That was the root of his ethics problem - gifts from evil corporations. (I thought only Republicans did that?)

No, gentle reader, you are seeing the result of abject panic amongst the Democrats. Even they realize they are in HUGE trouble in the fall. Clearly, Princess Pelosi got the message when even other members of the Congressional Black Caucus (Charlie is a founding member) started telling her Rangel had to go. They apparently cared more about staying in office than protecting a fellow traveler.

My sentiment - good riddance. And don't let the door of the cloak room hit you in the ass on the way out.

Congress - Is thy name Treason?

Ok - stay with us on this, the back-story will take a minute - but it is key to understanding this outrage.

In 1915 (yes, 1915) there was a conflict between Armenia and the Ottoman Turks. In the midst of that conflict, a large number of Armenians were killed. The Armenians say 1.5 million, the Turks say not that many. Doesn't really matter at this point.

Since then, the Armenians have been pushing for people to recognize this a genocide - rather than a tragedy of war - which is the Turkish position. Lots of passion around it - no agreement even as to the basic facts.

Fast forward to today. Turkey is part of NATO. More relevant, the are a key ally in our military efforts in IRAQ. We use their air bases as key staging areas for our operations. Ok, so what? Here's what.

Every so often, some dim-bulbed Congressman puts forth a resolution. It's purpose is to officially recognize the events in 1915 as a genocide by Turks against Armenians.

Why would one do this? Well, you could hope that congress is just so concerned about recognizing an event that happened 95 years ago, 6,000 miles away -- that it just has to act? Could there be another reason? Let us ponder.

The Turks have made it clear they would be very offended by such a resolution. When even one committee in the House passed a similar resolution in 2007 the Turks recalled their ambassador. (That is diplomatic speak for 'I am pissed'). They are now even more irate. The worst case scenario? They deny us use of their air bases, thus screwing up operations in Iraq. Ding Ding Ding Ding.... that's it, isn't it.

Those treasonous (yes, I said the T word) bastards in the House that vote for this are taking this action SOLELY to screw up our military operations. They don't give a damned about what happened in 1915. And apparently they don't give a damned about our soldiers either. They hate the operation in Iraq and still are not over it.

And Obama? He is barely any better. On the campaign trail, he promised to recognize the 'genocide'. Now? Well now he is staying silent. George Bush called congressman at home to stop the 2007 action from going to the entire house. Where is Obama? Doing nothing to protect the military. Wow, paint me shocked...not.

Charlie Rangel - Part Deux

We have written about Charlie Rangel before. For those who may not know, Charlie is a Democratic CongressCritter from New York. He is Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee. This is the committee that writes our tax laws. So, he is a pretty big deal.

In our original post, we detailed how the congressman was in hot water. He had neglected to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in income on rental property - on property he owned in the Caribbean! He claimed he had forgotten about the properties. Really!! If I owned property in the Caribbean, I suspect I would remember.

Well now Charles The Forgetful is in trouble again. The House Ethics Committee (an oxymoron at best) has ruled the Rangel violated house rules by accepting corporate funded trips to.....the Caribbean!

He claims he did not know how the trips were funded - that it was his staff that is to be blamed. Really? You went on overseas trips and did not know who was paying for them?

Two possibilites present themselves. Either he is too corrupt - for knowingly taking the trips. Or - he is too stupid - for going on trips without knowing who was paying?

I would go with corrupt.

Which brings us to Nancy Pelosi. Nancy is, unbelievably, the Speaker of the House. In the run-up to the election she accused the Republicans of having a 'Culture of Corruption'. She promised to 'Drain the Swamp' and 'Clean House' and have the 'Most Ethical Congress Ever'.

Not that anyone believed her of course. Since then, William Jefferson (D) was convicted of taking bribes. You remember him - he was the one with 90,000 bucks in his freezer.

Now we have Charlie. Judged by the House Ethics committee of breaking house rules. But, as one would expect, Queen Nancy is letting him keep his Chairmanship.

Just like we have been saying-global warming is bunk

As we have been saying since our first post, we believe that Man-Made Global warming is nonsense. Our believe is the warming is a natural part of the earths cycles, and is not caused by man. We are called deniers and skeptics - names we wear proudly.

Well, now it seems, the 'scientific' community is may finally be catching up. Many already have, but the guy in today's news, Phil Jones, has been at the center of the hoax. Jones is the former head of the Climate Research Unit in England. His group supplied a lot of the data used by scientists who created the theory of global warming. He was forced out by the 'Climat-Gate' scandal - where charges were made that data had been manipulated to make warming appear where none existed.

In this article, Jones admits several things that we have stated all along:

  • There has been no warming since 1995
  • It was warmer in Medieval times than now - prior to the invention of the SUV
  • Much of the data for the theories about warming are 'missing' - hence one cannot validate them
  • The two recent warming periods from 1910 to 1940 and 1975 to 1998 could be explained by natural phenomena.


Despite all of this, poor Mr. Jones still clings to his believe in Man Made global warming. This is sad. As a so-called scientist, he should be re-evaluating things.

But, warming is a religion. Al Gore is it's high priest. Driving a hybrid is it's sacrament. People do not let go of religious convictions easily. Worry not, we at Right of Center are patient. We will welcome you for de-programming when you are ready.
