Shocking Globull Warming News...well, not really

Warning - this post contains 'Climate Denial' - if it will offend your sensibilities, you have been warned.

As we posted here, we deny man-made global warming. Warming may (or may not) be happening, but it is hubris to think we are doing it.

In an interesting article, 15 year old research into cosmic rays and the sun as the real culprits in global warming is finally coming to light. Apparently, back in 1996, scientists from CERN (an actual science outfit) tried to publish research tagging cosmic rays and the sun as the real culprits in whatever global warming might be occurring.

Immediately there after, the scientists were under full scale assault by those that did not want their theories aired. It was not a scientific dispute, it was political. To quote the article, the scientists "soon found themselves vilified, marginalized and starved of funding, despite their impeccable scientific credentials.

Now, in 2011, the research has finally been published in the prestigeous journal NATURE. The theory put forward "has been Enemy No. 1 of the global warming establishment ever since it was first proposed" precisely because it undercuts the fundamental tenet of the Church of Global Warming - the man is responsible for it.

And if man is responsible, then we can use this 'fact' to justify huge governmental intrusions into all areas of economic activity. When shown to be false, the premise for this governmental interference likewise evaporates.

There is more to come on this story, but you will have to look hard to find it (or just check back here once in a while) because you are sure not to see it on ABCCBSNBCMSNBCCNN or NPR). Especially since the High Priest of the Church of Global Warming (AlGore) said climate 'deniers' are today's racists. Further, he claimed that 'denier' scientists held their views to get more funding, but climate alarmist scientists would do no such thing.

Let us not overlook the fact that AlGore is making millions and millions selling 'carbon offsets' to those gullible enough to buy them.

Folks, the stakes here are huge. Do not be cowed into being silent about something just because people call you names. Oh - and have a look at the chart below. Seems a lot of climate variation happened before I even owned my first SUV.

The curse of compromise

Imagine you are standing in the center of a teeter-totter. In the middle, you are perfectly balanced.

Now imagine you move to the left by one foot. Suddenly, you are unbalanced - and the left end of your teeter-totter is resting on the dirt.

Two people walk by and see your plight. One (having never been made to take math)suggests you move 3 more feet to the left, the other suggests moving one foot to the right. You decide to ignore the balance point (since you are a 'moderate') you decide instead (so everyone can 'get along') to compromise and move the average distance suggested... one more foot to the left. Result - you are even further from the balance point and your board is now buried in the dirt.

That is what has happened to our country folks. The 'balance' point is a correct constitutional balance between the Federal government and the States and between personal liberty and Government control.

We currently are like 27 feet to the left of the balance point. The Tea Party did not want to crash the government - they simply want us to move closer to the balance point - maybe like 5 feet. The Left wanted to move further to the left - like 8 more feet.

So, the compromise being advocated by the Left (and sadly, you Moderates out there) would move us FURTHER from where we should be.

This is why, correctly, the Tea Party refused the 'grand bargain' because it was no bargain at all. They were painted as (with links lest you think I exaggerate) terrorists and arsonists (from the Vice President, jihadists, obstructionist, of course racist (from an NPR exec-partially funded by taxpayers(because we all know you cannot disagree with a Black president if you are not racist), radical hostage takers , blah blah blah. All this from the party always preaching civility. Now there's a laugher.

No, they were simply standing for a principle- that of returning to a proper sized Federal government. The deficit is not because we tax ourselves to little - it is because the Fed simply spends too much.

I think the left is in panic mode. In a recent Gallup poll, reported here , more people say they support the Tea Party agenda than say the are 'liberal'. When you can't win the battle of ideas, resort to personal attacks?

The net result of the so-called 'debt ceiling crisis'(which was never a crisis)? Sadly, we moved no closer to the proper balance - we simply slowed the move to the Left - our deficits still grow. With patience, and tremendous tenacity - and only if the American people 'get it' - we MIGHT be able to turn the ship of state around. But, at this point, I give us only a 1 in 4 chance.... Sorry for the pessimism, but the times do not really call for optimism.

Back in the saddle

Yah - I have not posted for a long long time.

As Mark McGwire said, I am not here to talk about the past.

Where are we? In a a mess. Well, the US is in a mess, I am living in Europe at the moment, and they are in a really big mess.

How did we get here? Ignoring the Constitutional limits on the Federal Government, plain and simple. The ass=hats in Washington have, for too long, tried to be all things to all people. And we have allowed it - actually encouraged it.

They created the Dept of Education, which educates no one. The Dept of Energy - creates no energy. The Dept of Transportation... you get the idea.

The basic problem is that the Federal govt got too big for their collective britches. Re-read (or, read for the first time if you went to public school) Article One, Section 8 of the Constitution. It outlines the things the Fed is empowered to do.

Now, admittedly, we are decades into the over-reach of the Fed. This does not make it right, it just makes it so.

We are operating under the falsehood of the 'Federal Grant'. A grant for education, for hiring more police, for building a bunch of state and county roads. This is bull shite folks!

What is a Federal 'grant'?

Step one - you take money, in the form of taxes, away from the citizens of a state, say Ohio.

Step two - you give it back to Ohio (in this case) for, say, education. But first, you keep part of it DC, then you attach a bunch of string to it. So... the state gets (part of) their own damned money back ( or maybe some from, say, Michigan, or borrowed from the Chinese) and we are expected to be all joyful? Bullshit. The round-trip to DC just reduced the amount, added strings, and not much else.

How about this - You don't take our money, you don't attach strings, and you let us just do our own thing on education? That is the essence of States Rights (and no, it is NOT racist). States do their own thing - unless it is too big for any one state (Like the national defense).

This is it in a nutshell folks. We have a debt problem because we have a spending problem (not a lack of taxes).. We have a spending problem because we have a run-away Federal government... Which we have because we have abdicated States Rights... Period.. Full stop.

We will never solve this problem with the level of debate now going on in Foggy Bottom... States need to stand up and re-assert their rightful place. DC is the problem, not part of the solution.

And the Tea Party has it exactly half right... spending it a PROBLEM. Allowing the Federal government to be bloated, over-reaching, utopian, and soul-sucking is the other half of the problem.

This is not the time for 1/2 measures.

DIVORCE AGREEMENT

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

--Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

--We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.

--You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.

--Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.

--We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.

--You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.

--We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.

--You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.

--We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks.

--We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

--You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.

--You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

--We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.

--You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

--We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

--You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.

--We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.

--We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem."

--I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".

--We'll practice trickle down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.

--Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

The continued fraud of so-called Global Warming.

Yes, it is hot right now...but it is also summer. So don't get your collective panties in a global warming bunch. This will be an abbreviated post, as I am typing on my cellphone.

It seems like a good time to remind ourselves of the kind of folks with which Comrade Obama surrounds himself. Since one in particular has had a lot to say about the goals of global warming policy.

John P. Holdren, who is the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy - also known as the science 'czar' has the following to say..

“Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided to every human being”.

Now, isn't that special. Now we have moved to the point where so-called environmental policy has the aim of providing a decent life for everyone... how utopian, comrade.

He made that comment in reference to the need for carbon taxes and how to move the money around. It is vital to remember that a tax on carbon is a tax on all economic activity. It is tax on your life. What you eat, wear, and drive. It is a tax on your travel and how you heat your home.

And notice, as we have pointed out here before-this has never really been about 'saving the planet'. It is about taking your money and giving it to someone who did not earn it. It is bad enough when we do it domestically (see our previous post), but now we want to do it internationally. Forgive me if I am not excited about sending my money to a country run by some tin horned dictator.

Folks, the core of the global warming hoax is about taking your money and spreading it around the globe.

So when you hear a congress critter talked about 'Cap and Trade', or 'limiting carbon emissions', or similar BS, just say NO....or better yet HELL NO. And remember to vote in November.

Tax code - Thy name is theft

Imagine you are walking down the street and you see an poorly clothed, poorly fed, emaciated homeless women. You are moved by compassion to help her out. So, using your own money, you act. You take her to a resturant and feed her. You buy her some new clothes. You take her to the doctor. How wonderful!! How laudable. Everyone applauds acts of charity.

Now, on the other hand, suppose you act differently. Not wanting to use your own money, you procure a gun. You proceed to take money from a number of people. You use this money to care for the women just as the example above. What do we call this? We call it theft - regardless of your intention at helping the women. Now, what if you get 3 friends to agree with you that your course of action was just? Still theft. 1000 people, still theft. A million people - yes, still theft.

Theft is the taking of property from it's rightful owner and giving it to someone who did not earn it an to whom it does not belong.

Now, what if your name is the IRS? Sanctioned by Congress? Well - now it may legal... but folks, it is still immoral. It is still theft. Just because a group of 535 people in Washington, plus 5 supreme court members agree to the theft... It is still immoral, it is still theft.

Theft is still the taking of property from it's rightful owner and giving it to someone who did not earn it an to whom it does not belong.

Please read the constitution and tell where such thievery is among the enumerated powers of congress.I will save you the time - it is not there. This is not about building a road, or a tank, or supplying a soldier. Those are all legimate powers of the government. Taking one persons property (under the threat of force) and giving to another who did not earn it and to whom it does not belong is immoral. It may, at this point be legal, but it is still immoral.

We have practically killed charity in this country. We have created millions of people who EXPECT the government to steal on their behalf. It has been a disaster. And, folks, the full impact of the disaster yet awaits us. Because now, we have run out of money to steal. We are having to resort to borrowing it -- hoping to steal it from a future generation... Get out and vote in 2010.

Been gone a while - Let's talk about Canada

I am back after a month off of blogging. Why the break? Well, frankly, the whole political mess just depressed the hell out of me. I spent 3 months in Europe on a job assignment - returned May 1. And man, I followed the news from Europe - but being back home and realizing it was real... sucked.

So, about what should I opine?

Obvious choices include:

The skyrocketing deficits
The (hooray) departure of the anti-Semite Helen Thomas
The sad situation concerning the oil spill
The nomination of Elana Kagan to the Supreme court
The recent primaries around the country
The ongoing, illegal, and down-right tacky situation concerning Joe Sestak
The increasingly glaring, total, and widespread incompetence of Obama

No - those all bore me. Instead, I would like to talk about our neighbor to the North. The land of free health care, who love to sneer at the meanness of our Health Care system.

Well, try this on for size. The Barlagne family moved from France to Canada five years ago to start a software company. They had temporary work papers. They also had a daughter with Cerebral Palsy.

Fast forward - they are now trying to get their citizenship. But, it is DENIED. Why, because the government says their daughter poses an "excessive burden" to the nation. This is because the medical treatment of the daughter would cost over $5,000 more than the average citizen's care.

Now, Canada prides itself in it's 'single payer' system. It is supposed to be a bastion of care, concern, and sensitivity. But, the sordid side of 'government' funded care is now revealed. They are going to deny care to a 7 year old girl - because of a pre-existing condition (you know, the same kind that Obama promised to ignore) that put an undo 'burden' on the STATE. So, the truth comes out - it is not the little girl that is important - it is the STATE.

Couple this with the fact that England is having to 're-evaluate' it's National Health Service due to out of control costs, and you have a perfect crystal ball for where the US is heading under ObamaCare.

In the end, your options for care will not be determined by YOUR need - but rather by your IMPACT on the system. The needs of the many will outweigh the needs of the few (you).

We need to repeal this mess, and start from scratch. Will we? I don't know - but we sure as hell need to.

The 'radical' fringe that disapproves of Obama seems to have gotten a lot bigger

We are characterized as the 'radical right', full of 'hate', too dumb to know what is good for us. Always described as a 'small' fringe group.

Well, a funny thing happened on the way to the Politburo.

Seems that the American people are not enthralled with President Impostor anymore. Not that anyone in the press cares. They are convinced that we are gullible and getting fooled by the banks, insurance companies, and lobbyists.

Obama - the great Divider

Well I guess it was only a matter of time. Our vaunted President has sunk to a new low. In the video below, he expresses,with surprising frankness who he is interested in in the upcoming elections 'young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women'.

I guess John Edwards was right after all - there are two Americas. The group above that Obama cares about - and then everyone else. And, though he did not say it, I am sure he meant to say 'liberal' in front of each of those. Because I doubt he is interested in hearing from my conservative, female friends.

Folks, this is not a good thing. Whatever happened to appealing to the best of our natures? To trying to inspire us. In short, to lead. What happened to trying to be the President of all the people?

He took his obligatory swipe at 'wall street' and the banks and the special interests. (Of course, he IS keeping the roughly one million dollars Goldman Sachs donated to his campaign - even after it was announced they are under investigation. So, he must not be TOO outraged.) He leads one to believe if you oppose him - you must be part of that evil cabal. Forget about the 60% of the that oppose health care reform and Cap and Trade. No - that cannot be real opposition, it must have been ginned up by the evil lobbyists.

Has he just written off anyone not on that list? Oh wait - that list only excluded white men. I guess he figures if he can hook the rest - the white men can just go piss off? Except the tree hugging liberal white men - they would vote for anyone with a 'D' behind their name.

We tried for months to warn you who this guy really was. Can you hear us now?

This article details the increase in threats against Congress folks (most of whom supported the Health Care takeover).

Now, we should say clearly - We oppose this type of behavior. Threats like this have no place in our system.

Having said that - should one be surprised at this? I mean look - We are supposed to have a form of government where our elected representatives should carry out something at least vaguely resembling our collective desires. Now true - we elected these idiots. Obama won on his hope and change nonsense. Sure - people wanted change - but did they want THIS kind of 'change'? It appears not.

When the Health Care overhaul finally passed - 60+% of Americans opposed it. And the majority that opposed it 'strongly' did so. Congress's response to the collective opinion was 'stick it'. They did what they damned well pleased.

Now we have Congress-people like that idiot Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D.-Fla.), detailed in this article , running around trying to tell us there is not 'mandate' that people buy health insurance. This in spite of the fact that “REQUIREMENT TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE" appears in the language of the bill. So, not only did they ignore us before the vote - they feel compelled to lie to us afterwards.

Plus we are seeing stories that our respected Representatives are not having open Town Hall meetings anymore. Instead, they opt for tightly controlled 'round-tables'. Why? Because they are tired of the riff-raff (that would be us) coming and yelling at them about running roughshod over the Constitution and our opinions.

So, with that back-drop - can one be surprised that a few nut-jobs start talking in threatening language?

We will have our chance again in November to 'remind' them of our opinions and desires in November. I just hope to God they start listening.

If not, at some point, if they keep moving us towards bigger and bigger government - someone will take seriously the words of another 'nut-job' from history. Thomas Jefferson wrote, in our own Declaration of Independence: ....That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, -That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government...

A measure of the Panic in Washington..

We have written about Charlie Rangel before here and here. For those who may not know, Charlie is a Democratic CongressCritter from New York. He is Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee. This is the committee that writes our tax laws. So, he is a pretty big deal.

Well, we actually should say he 'was' the chairman. He recently was found by the House Ethics committee to have committed various violations of House rules. Now, for a Republican, this would have meant instant pressure from all quarters to step aside. But, when you are a Democrat, it is different. Speaker Pelosi decided to leave Rangel in place - unless the ethics committee found something 'else'. So much for her promise to 'drain the swamp' and have the 'most ethical congress ever'.

But, that was yesterday. Today it seems the heat is so bad in Washington for the Democrats that Rangel was, in fact, forced to step down. Now, he said it was voluntary. Wait...let me find it.. there... I know you can't see it, but I just threw the bullshit flag for that assertion.

Rangel would NEVER voluntarily step aside. His post, next to the Speaker of the House, was the most powerful in the House. He had free hand to write tax law (which, of course, he freely ignored as it applied to him). This power made him a very popular guy with lobbyists trying to persuade him. That was the root of his ethics problem - gifts from evil corporations. (I thought only Republicans did that?)

No, gentle reader, you are seeing the result of abject panic amongst the Democrats. Even they realize they are in HUGE trouble in the fall. Clearly, Princess Pelosi got the message when even other members of the Congressional Black Caucus (Charlie is a founding member) started telling her Rangel had to go. They apparently cared more about staying in office than protecting a fellow traveler.

My sentiment - good riddance. And don't let the door of the cloak room hit you in the ass on the way out.

Congress - Is thy name Treason?

Ok - stay with us on this, the back-story will take a minute - but it is key to understanding this outrage.

In 1915 (yes, 1915) there was a conflict between Armenia and the Ottoman Turks. In the midst of that conflict, a large number of Armenians were killed. The Armenians say 1.5 million, the Turks say not that many. Doesn't really matter at this point.

Since then, the Armenians have been pushing for people to recognize this a genocide - rather than a tragedy of war - which is the Turkish position. Lots of passion around it - no agreement even as to the basic facts.

Fast forward to today. Turkey is part of NATO. More relevant, the are a key ally in our military efforts in IRAQ. We use their air bases as key staging areas for our operations. Ok, so what? Here's what.

Every so often, some dim-bulbed Congressman puts forth a resolution. It's purpose is to officially recognize the events in 1915 as a genocide by Turks against Armenians.

Why would one do this? Well, you could hope that congress is just so concerned about recognizing an event that happened 95 years ago, 6,000 miles away -- that it just has to act? Could there be another reason? Let us ponder.

The Turks have made it clear they would be very offended by such a resolution. When even one committee in the House passed a similar resolution in 2007 the Turks recalled their ambassador. (That is diplomatic speak for 'I am pissed'). They are now even more irate. The worst case scenario? They deny us use of their air bases, thus screwing up operations in Iraq. Ding Ding Ding Ding.... that's it, isn't it.

Those treasonous (yes, I said the T word) bastards in the House that vote for this are taking this action SOLELY to screw up our military operations. They don't give a damned about what happened in 1915. And apparently they don't give a damned about our soldiers either. They hate the operation in Iraq and still are not over it.

And Obama? He is barely any better. On the campaign trail, he promised to recognize the 'genocide'. Now? Well now he is staying silent. George Bush called congressman at home to stop the 2007 action from going to the entire house. Where is Obama? Doing nothing to protect the military. Wow, paint me shocked...not.

Charlie Rangel - Part Deux

We have written about Charlie Rangel before. For those who may not know, Charlie is a Democratic CongressCritter from New York. He is Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee. This is the committee that writes our tax laws. So, he is a pretty big deal.

In our original post, we detailed how the congressman was in hot water. He had neglected to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in income on rental property - on property he owned in the Caribbean! He claimed he had forgotten about the properties. Really!! If I owned property in the Caribbean, I suspect I would remember.

Well now Charles The Forgetful is in trouble again. The House Ethics Committee (an oxymoron at best) has ruled the Rangel violated house rules by accepting corporate funded trips to.....the Caribbean!

He claims he did not know how the trips were funded - that it was his staff that is to be blamed. Really? You went on overseas trips and did not know who was paying for them?

Two possibilites present themselves. Either he is too corrupt - for knowingly taking the trips. Or - he is too stupid - for going on trips without knowing who was paying?

I would go with corrupt.

Which brings us to Nancy Pelosi. Nancy is, unbelievably, the Speaker of the House. In the run-up to the election she accused the Republicans of having a 'Culture of Corruption'. She promised to 'Drain the Swamp' and 'Clean House' and have the 'Most Ethical Congress Ever'.

Not that anyone believed her of course. Since then, William Jefferson (D) was convicted of taking bribes. You remember him - he was the one with 90,000 bucks in his freezer.

Now we have Charlie. Judged by the House Ethics committee of breaking house rules. But, as one would expect, Queen Nancy is letting him keep his Chairmanship.

Just like we have been saying-global warming is bunk

As we have been saying since our first post, we believe that Man-Made Global warming is nonsense. Our believe is the warming is a natural part of the earths cycles, and is not caused by man. We are called deniers and skeptics - names we wear proudly.

Well, now it seems, the 'scientific' community is may finally be catching up. Many already have, but the guy in today's news, Phil Jones, has been at the center of the hoax. Jones is the former head of the Climate Research Unit in England. His group supplied a lot of the data used by scientists who created the theory of global warming. He was forced out by the 'Climat-Gate' scandal - where charges were made that data had been manipulated to make warming appear where none existed.

In this article, Jones admits several things that we have stated all along:

There has been no warming since 1995
It was warmer in Medieval times than now - prior to the invention of the SUV
Much of the data for the theories about warming are 'missing' - hence one cannot validate them
The two recent warming periods from 1910 to 1940 and 1975 to 1998 could be explained by natural phenomena.

Despite all of this, poor Mr. Jones still clings to his believe in Man Made global warming. This is sad. As a so-called scientist, he should be re-evaluating things.

But, warming is a religion. Al Gore is it's high priest. Driving a hybrid is it's sacrament. People do not let go of religious convictions easily. Worry not, we at Right of Center are patient. We will welcome you for de-programming when you are ready.

Those on the Left love to berate our 'broken' health care system. They chafe when someone tries to tell them it is the best health care system in the world.

They try to convince us of the superiority of the Canadian system - the so-called 'single payer' model. You know, the one where the 'government' pays all the bills. Where everyone gets the care they need, when they need it. The one where there is no rationing, no long waits, no shortage of specialists who are experts at new and emerging curative procedures.

Well, a funny thing happened up there in our 51st state. As this article outlines, the Premier of one of their provinces (I guess like a big state) has developed a heart condition requiring surgery.

Can you guess, gentle reader, where in Canada he is going? Toronto? No. Montreal? No. Somewhere else in Canada? No.....

He is coming to the United Freaking States of America to get his life saving surgery!! Why is that? I mean, he is a powerful guy. Can you imagine Obama, or your governor, going to England for cancer treatment? Not hardly.

One can only imagine that a) there are no specialists capable of doing this surgery, or b) There is too long of a wait (in other words - he will die first), or c) The specialist is a French speaker and won't do the surgery for an English speaker. In any event - pack your backs honey, we are heading to the U S of A.

So, once again, American exceptionalism is on parade. Think those dumb asses in Washington who are still trying to cram ObamaCare down our throats are watching...Nah.

Two quick thoughts

Folks - it may just actually happen. It looks more and more that Scott Brown, as a Republican, may actually muster a big enough victory in Taxechussets that the Democrat machine will not be able to steal the election!! If so - Obamacare, and the disaster that awaits us, will stand a good chance of being averted.

The polls have Brown up again the charisma challenged, corruptocrat Coakley up by at least the high single digits - and growing. This is time to ask the deity in your 'faith tradition' (to quote John Kerry - did you know he served in Vietnam?)that we be delivered from Democrat 'super-majority' rule.

On a different note, all of these people got a paid day off today - for Martin Luther King day.

School Bus Drivers
Federal Employees
State Employees
County Employees
City and Municipal employees
Postal workers

These jobs are all funded by the taxpayer.

Question - Why is it that the people who fund the jobs have to work, while the people funded by taxpayers get the day off? Seems somehow unfair to me.... Just saying.

Even the dimmest among you should know that Ted Kennedy was the senior Senator from Massachusetts for the last 168 years prior to his death last year. Since then, a temporary political hack has held his seat. There is a special election Tuesday, Jan 19 to fill the seat. A Democrat woman name Martha Coakley is running against the Republican Scott Brown.

Now, under normal circumstances, a Republican would have had zero chance of winning. Massachusetts is the bluest of blue states. In point of fact, 6 weeks ago, Brown was trailing by 30 points.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the ballot box. Scott Brown's campaign caught fire. The most recent poll had him up by 4 points. The focus is on the pending health care destruction bill. It is broadly unpopular - even in the Socialist Republic of Tax-echusetts.

It is broadly expected that a win by Brown would stop the so-called health care reform bill in it's tracks. One could not write a better ending. Because, one needs to remember, Socialist Health Care was Kennedy's life's work. How wonderfully delicious - kill this bill by taking the 'Kennedy' seat.

Now, do I believe this will actually happen? Sadly, no. I believe the Dems will use every trick in the book to swipe the election - just like they did to elect that idiot Al Franken in Minn. Between the political machine, the corrupt actions of the unions (SEIU is in this BIG), and, if needed, the courts - the Dems will not let this happen to the 'Kennedy' seat.

But, even if Coakley escapes - this should serve as a warning shot to every Dem in the country. If the 'Kennedy' seat is not safe - neither is yours. If you continue down this path - you better get a reservation for a moving van now - because they will be hard to come by after November when we send you packing back to your home state.

Ok - The Senate has passed their version of the Health Care abomination. There is lots to hate about the bill - but I will leave that to others to detail. I have not the time nor inclination to read 2,000+ pages of lawyer-speak.

There is one facet that I think does warrant mention. As I said, there are many items to dislike. But, by and large, if we, through our representatives (as much as they suck), want to impose them on ourselves - so be it.

However, in the bills is a personal 'mandate' to buy health insurance. Think about it, the Federal Government is getting ready to tell you that you must buy something. This is without precedent.

Now, some will equate this to a mandate to buy car insurance. This is fallacious on its face. Car insurance is required if, and only if, you want to drive a car. No car? No mandate.

I re-read Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution looking for one of the enumerated powers that granted the Fed the right to do this. Because, remember gentle reader, the Fed was granted a limited number of specific powers. If not mentioned, it does not belong to the Feds, but rather to the States, or to US - the people.

A number of Senators were asked what clause in the Constitution grants Congress the right for force us to buy something. There answers were both troubling and humorous at the same time. Troubling because these are our Senators - members of the 'greatest deliberative body' in the world. These clowns have no idea what the Constitution even says. Funny because it shows just how clueless they are.

Among the answers:

Senator Bob Casey Jr. (D-Pa.) said he was not sure if there is a “specific constitutional provision” that gives Congress the authority to mandate that all Americans have health insurance. Casey asserted, however, that the initiative was constitutional.

Hey Bob-News Flash. That is the point of the question. If you can't give the 'specific provision' - that is a clue that it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) said that Congress is has the constitutional authority to mandate that people buy health insurance in "probably the same place” that states get the power to mandate that people purchase auto insurance.

Really? Really? As we have noted, the Fed is supposed to have more limited power than the States, so this argument is stupid from the start.
Senators Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) said that Congress has the authority to mandate that people buy health insurance. Feinstein added that there is no constitutional limit on Congress’ power to enact such mandates, adding that this unlimited authority stemmed from the Commerce clause of the Constitution.

Good Lord, where to start. The Commerce Clause. This is the place where the Constitution gives the Fed the right to 'regulate Commerce among the several States'. The purpose was to make sure the Ohio did not try to put a tariff on goods coming from Michigan. To extend that to mean that Congress can force me to buy insurance? I don't see it. Beyond that - she says there is NO LIMIT to congressional authority. This woman is a menace. Hey Diane, if there are no limits - why not mandate that everyone buy a new car every 2 years? That sure as hell would rescue the auto industry.
Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.) said that Congress has the authority to force individual American to buy health insurance because the Constitutions says to provided for the "health, welfare and the defense of the country."

Bullshit. Roland, the Constitution does not even contain the word 'Health'. Defense? Yes, it is there. Welfare? Yes - but it says to 'promote' the 'general' welfare. So, you have perverted the concept of 'welfare' - and just plain made up the idea of 'health'.
Senator Leahy said: “I mean, there’s no question there’s authority. Nobody questions that.

Ummm... not so much.
Nancy Pelosi said: "Are you serious? Are you serious?" when asked about the Constitutional authority.

Yah, bitch, we are serious.

Folks, this is a turning point in history. Congress is getting ready to completely trample on our rights. It needs to be stopped - and there is still time. If not, it will have to be challenged in court. But, with the makeup of the Supreme Court - we cannot count on the outcome.

Hide the Decline

hiAs we pointed out in our last post, one of the recently exposed e-mails from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) in England talks about a 'trick' that was used in processing Climate Data. The trick was used to 'hide the decline' in temperature data. The purpose, it seems, was to make temperatures appear as if they were going up - when, actually, they were going down - i.e. declining.

Dr. Michael Mann of Penn State (mis)used this data to build a faulty computer model that shows a 'hockey stick' shaped graph. This graph shows global temperatures on the rise. People have examine the computer code and stated - it show temperature rising because the program was designed....to show temperatures rising.

They are calling it ClimateGate. If you limit your news viewing to the so-called Main Stream Media in the US - you will be completely unaware of it. So, as a public service, I shall give a brief introduction. For the whole story, just Google 'Climategate'.

There is group in England, known as the Climate Research Unit ... aka the CRU. This is a group of so-called scientists - the purpose of the CRU is to collect, process, and distribute climate data.

This data has been used for a couple of very key things.

1) It formed the basis for the imfamous 'hockeystick' graph of Dr. Mann's. This computer model purports to show that global temperatures are rising due to man-made causes, chief among them - CO2. Soon all life would end.

2) It also formed the basis for the UN's IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change).

These two items have been used to foment international panic about global warming. Here in the US - these have been used to try to justify the largest set of taxes, regulations, and losses of freedom ever devised by humans.

Well, a funny thing happened on the way to climate disaster! Turns out some hackers (or whistle blowers) released over 50megs of e-mails from the CRU.

Among the things that become obvious from reading these e-mails

Dr. Mann ignored data that did not fit his desire to show temperature increases that he wanted his model to show.
The scientists in the e-mails are claiming to have destroyed the original data that their 'reports' were based on.
They acknowledge that the earth has been cooling the last 10 years - and they have no idea why.
They realize that there current predictions of the climate does not match actual observations - so they conclude the OBSERVATIONS must be wrong
They manipulated their results so that they could 'hide the decline' (that's a quote) in recent temperatures.
They were conspiring to erase e-mails that showed what they were doing. Apparently - not quite fast enough
They were conspiring to avoid Freedom of Information requests - thus hiding their data from public scrutiny
They were conspiring to shut out scientists from publishing if these scientists did not go along with the religion of global warming
They discussed boycotting publications that did, in fact, publish the works of climate 'deniers'

That is, by any fair evaluation, extremely damning of these scientists. So, what has
happened in the 2 1/2 weeks since this information came to light?

Dr. Mann in under investigation by his university
The head of the CRU has stepped down
The MET - the British weather service has announced a 3 year effort to re-evaluate all known temperature data for the last 160 years.
NASA is launching an investigation into its own handling of this data

Since we all want our policy decisions to be based on solid science (we do, right?)

You would expect the US government to voice concern about these events, right? -- NO. The Presidents spokesman, the idiot Robert Gibbs, completely discounts the significance of the events
You would expect the major TV news outlets in the US to jump all over this story, right? Because this is a huge scandal.NO. Except for FOX News, the big boys have ignored it. Apparently too busy filling us in about Tiger Wood's ~~4 no 5 no 6 no~~ 7 mistresses.
You would expect the Congress to be all about investigating this, right? I mean, if this is all true - these scientists have made off with millions of taxpayer dollars - and have tried to foist a hoax of historic proportions on all of us. But, NO, gentle reader - you know better.The ass-clowns in Congress seem undaunted. Luckily, they are too distracted by the Health Care disaster to spend any time on global warming right now.

Like I said - for more details - simply Google 'Climategate' and you will be better informed than all the geniuses at ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBCNPR and the NYT.

Democratic idea of guiding principles

I frequently read some of the loony left blogs and websites. Good to keep up on what the other side is thinking - if you can call it that. I came across the following list of proposed 'litmus test' principles some guy proposed for Democrats.

Allow me to share - with a few comments of my own...

(1) We support the rights extended to Americans extended under the Constitution. All the rights. For all Americans. Except the following rights:

the right to keep your own money without it being hijacked by an ever growing Federal Government
The right to decide what kind of health insurance, if any, you want
The right to freely protest your government without being call a 'tea-bagger', 'Nazi', 'evil-monger', 'un-American', or a 'dupe of the big insurance companies'
The right to possess, carry, and use firearms in self-defense without some onerous process outlined by ass-clowns in Washington or state capitals
The right to point out that making all kinds of allowances to other religions, while taking Christians into court (for having a Bible in school, or putting up a cross in some city park), seems somehow lacking in balance.

(2) We support thoughtful, pragmatic solutions that protect American lives, American standards, and American pocketbooks. This includes finding solutions that don't require bombing anyone. Neville Chamberlain, call your office. For those of you that have never heard of Chamberlain - he was the appeaser in chief leading up to WWII. He went to visit Hitler and tried the diplomacy route - just like Obama is hoping will work. The resulting Nazi takeover of Poland, and the resulting war, makes you ask, 'yah, how did that work out for you?'

(3) We support an America that has diversity in race, thought, background, and religion not out of some hazy idealism, but because it is our nation's greatest strength. Even if this means blatant discrimination against White males who had zero to do with any form of bias. Yah, screw them.

(4) We oppose torture in any form, in any place, at any time, for any reason. And we think pouring water on a guys face, or making him wear women's panties, or playing naked twister, or putting bugs in the cells of people who are trying to KILL Americans -- now, THAT is torture.

(5) We support American business, and recognize that an unregulated market is an unfair market, an unstable market, and a market doomed to failure. And we think that we are smart enough to regulate every aspect of the market. We know that this has failed wherever it has been tried - but that was before WE arrived on the scene.

(6) We support American workers, and know that when workers are allowed to organize they make their jobs, their companies, and their nation stronger. Even if this means abolishing the secret ballot in union organizing elections so that union thugs can intimidate people into 'supporting' unionization at their workplace. The 'freedom' to organize is that important.

(7) We believe that the reputation of our nation is valuable and must be zealously guarded against those who place expediency ahead of law.And we include in this bringing terrorists captured abroad to New York to give them civilian trials, just like any other 'criminal'. Since we hate the military, the idea of military trials is abhorrent to us. We know that this has never been done in the history of the world, but again, that was before WE arrived on the scene.

(8) We believe in spreading democracy and human rights to the rest of the world by vigorously upholding those ideals here at home. This is such a meaningless statement, it deserves no response

(9) We believe that access to our government is not for sale. Not in the courthouse, not in the White House, and not in the legislature. Except if it means keeping ex-lobbyists out of the Obama government. We think it is ok for him to grant hundreds of 'waivers' to his 'no lobbyists' rule. After all, you can't dick over all those guys who did fund-raising for the Messiah, right?.

(10) We believe that the health of our planet is not a zero-sum game, not a game of "you go first," and not a game.That is why we choose to ignore Climategate that has exposed blatant FRAUD in the so-called science of 'climate change'. You won't see us upset about thousands of e-mails showing the hiding or destruction of data, the manipulation of results, the conspiring to avoid public release of our data, or the conspiracy to silence the critics of Man Made global warming. Maintaining the HOAX is too important for things like honesty and transparency to stand in the way.

Folks - these are the people we are dealing with. They speak in platitudes (and in Obama's case, soaring rhetoric), but they are intellectually bankrupt. When reality collides with their well tailored theories, it is reality that must bend or break.

Continue vigilance, and don't let em fool you.

After the epic FAIL of the American voters in getting duped into electing the Messiah, a new poll is renewing my faith.

Just 38% of those poll now supports the Health Care abomination making its way through Congress. And this is kind of misnomer - since there are actually two versions. One in the House and one in the Senate. Plus, I assume the 2/3 of the people who say they support it have no idea what 'it' even is. No matter.

People are waking up. Luckily, it looks assured the Senate will have tremendous trouble agreeing on anything. This despite the fact that hundreds of millions in bribes are being handed out to Senators from individual states.

Since this crap will not pass this year - it will not pass. The congress-critters will not sacrifice their careers to try to save 'The One'. It is painful to watch - but I remain confident we will dodge this economy crushing, liberty robbing bullet.

Oh please, God, let America avoid this disaster.

10. Memphis, TN – Mayor A.C Wharton (Dem) recently replaced the always entertaining but rarely coherent William W. Herenton(Dem) so he could run for congress.
9. Jackson, MS – Harvey Johnson (Dem)
8. Cleveland, OH - Former mayor is that idiot Dennis Kucinich(Dem). The current mayor, Frank Jackson (Dem)
7. Birmingham, AL - Now 'Former' (as of October) Mayor Larry Langford (Dem) just got convicted of taking bribes. Not sure if they have found someone dumb enough to want the job- I got bored looking.
6. New Orleans - Mayor Ray Nagin (Dem). I actually met Nagin when I was volunteering after Katrina. Yes, America, a conservative actually volunteered to clean up the disaster after Bush blew up the levies-to kill all those black people.

4. Detroit, MI - New mayor Bing (Dem) replaces Kilpatrick (Dem)following his legal troubles

Did you see the pattern, gentle reader? Yes, I think you did. All of these centers of crime, poverty, blight, and decay are run by your friends in the Democratic Party! Does this surprise you? I doubt it. I started this post not ACTUALLY knowing all would be Dems. But, I had faith, so I pushed through. Saying 'let me google that for you' each time I came to a new city on the list.

It was often hard to find news of the current Mayor. So often the links were to information about the trial, conviction, or resignation of the previous Mayor.

Apparently whatever Democrats like to do when they run big cities just does not freaking work. But, they keep getting elected. Apparently, voters are, in fact, just that dumb.

Trial, What the hell?

So, how's that Obama thing working out for you now New York? You voted for this idiot - and he stabs you right in the heart.

Moving the trial of the self-proclaimed master mind of 9/11, Kalid Sheik Mohammad (KSM) to Manhattan? Are you freaking kidding me. This is so wrong on so many levels.

He already admitted to this. He is looking forward to being a 'martyr for Islam'. I say 'Let's go ahead and arrange that'.
Since he already proudly admitted that - why the hell go through a trial at all?
And if you are having a trial - It should be a Military trial.
This hump does not warrant a 'criminal' trial. This was not a crime - it was an act of war.
Now we have to deal with ACLU lawyers, criminal trial rules, rules of evidence, and the obvious fact he was not Mirandized.
The obvious limits imposed by a public trial. Intelligence gathering - sources and methods. Neither judge nor jury has the Security clearance to hear this. So, what will have to be excluded?
Are we going to put Intelligence and Military personnel on the stand and subject them to public cross-examination?
Looking forward everyday to some liberal judge halting the trial on some technical ground.
Wondering everyday if someone will try to blow up the courthouse
Wondering what pressure will be brought to bear on the Judge and the Jurors. Would YOU want to put your family through that?

Everyday this man-child President demonstrates anew how unfit he is for this job.

one more thing - here is Obama back in 2006 singing the praises of a bill pending before the Senate. He says KSM would get a military trial --- to quote Joe Wilson - LIAR-

Ok - I be confused. I just watched a show on PBS on human evolution. (Actually,in my defense, my wife was watching - I happened to be in the room). The theory was big swings in the climate, drove evolution. Some of these climate swings were very quick - hundreds of years.

There were examples of places in Africa that went from arid, to flooded, to a lake, back to arid, in the space of 1000 years. Huge structures, made of microscopic ocean animals, in the middle of a desert.

Now - these same types of 'scientists' are trying to convince me that my SUV is causing the minor temperature changes in the last 100 years. Do these guys not talk to each other, to get their stories straight?

I mean - one group says that I need to change light bulbs to save the planet. The other group is telling me that natural, huge, cyclical changes in the climate drove our evolution from apes to humans. This was, one must remember, prior to the industrial age.

Can these both be true? I am just dense? Did I miss something?

Perhaps not....This was, after all, PBS.

Bunch of new awards annouced

This on the heels of the stunning announcement that The Messiah won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Young Billy Prescott, who just entered Our Savior of Perpetual Hope Middle School. Billy has been voted class Valedictorian of the Class of 2015. The award was given based on Billy's commitment to ace all of his classes for the next 6 years. For the Record - to date, Billy has never aced a single class - no matter - he intends to from now on.
Swana Williams, Freshman at the New York Film School. Swana has been awarded an Oscar for the stunning movie which she intents to Produce and Direct after she graduates from film school. It was stated that her intention to BOTH Produce AND Direct the yet to be written film was what clinched the Oscar.
Emily Yankovich, aspiring blogger. Emily was given the coveted Pulitzer price for the hard hitting expose she hopes to write on her blog uncovering massive corruption. She is not sure WHERE the corruption will be, but she sure as hell intends to find out. The committee said the fact that she has yet to actually start her blog was not a barrier to her winning. In fact, they said it clinched the prize for her. They wanted to do all they could to encourage to actually write the damned thing.

On a personal note, I am lobbying the Ohio Lottery Commission to issue me the One Million Dollar winning check for the winning lottery ticket that I intend to buy next near.

Sound silly? It is only silly because you are not Barack Hussein Obama...mmm mmm mmm.

To refresh your memory. Back early this year - The Annointed One promised to close Club Gitmo by the end of the year. This was strictly a political decision. It was not rooted in any rational set of facts. The White House (Obama) had zero idea of how to actually do it. There was no thought of the real world implications of such a decision. Like - what the hell will we do with all the terrorists housed there?

Obama hoped, since the world loved him so, that other countries would take the bad guys. Ok - we palmed a few off - but our 'allies' around the world said 'nope'. We can't bring them here - because to do so would impart all kinds of criminal rights on what are actually enemy combatants. Plus, the congress refused to give Obama the money to do it if it meant bringing the terrorists here.

So, what to do? I know - let's find a scapegoat to blame the failure on. The narrative will be 'we really wanted to do this. But, the guy we gave the job to screwed it up soo badly, that we are going to miss the deadline.

Senate Democrat: Health Care Bill is 'Gibberish'

This is truly disheartening. There is a Senator(D) on the Senate Finance Committee named Thomas Carper. I haven't used this term in quite a while - but, today, I feel compelled to do so. Carper is an ass-clown from Delaware. What, you might asked, makes him an ass-clown?

Well, in this report of an interview he said:

that he does not “expect” to read the actual legislative language of the committee’s health care bill
He said the bill would be 'confusing'
He call the language in the bill 'arcane,' 'confusing,' 'hard stuff to understand,' and 'incomprehensible.'
He likened it to Credit Card disclosure forms (mandated, as it turns out, by congress
Called the language 'gibberish'.
On a somewhat more positive note, he said he would "probably" read the "plain English version" of the bill as opposed to the actual text.

Ok - color me totally appalled!!

This is the situation. Someone, we don't know who, will draft the actual language of the bill. This language is too hard for Carper to understand. So, someone (don't know if it is the same someone who wrote the bill) will draft a 'plain English' version of the bill. So that Carper might understand it - since he will 'probably' read it! Are you freaking kidding me?

He is ON the committee writing the law. Who the hell is the actual 'someone' that is drafting the language? And, how do we know that the 'plain English' version actually reflects what the bill says?

Question 1: Why do we have a senator too dumb to understand the bills his committee produces?
Question 2: Who makes sure the 'plain English' version is accurate?
Question 3: How will he be able to make a case for the bill, or answer ANY questions about it, since he already admits he won't (can't) read it?
Question 4: Can we meet and talk to the person that actually drafted the language?
Question 5: Can we have 'that guy' as our Senator instead?

And people wonder why we don't trust government anymore????

Well - in case you were wondering about the world's love of Obama - that has been answered. The world has spoken - and gave him a total bitch slap.

He (and Michelle) went to Denmark to pitch the International Olympic Committee on the idea of Chicago hosting the 2016 Olympics. Not only did Chicago get rejected - they were the FIRST ones rejected. Epic FAIL.

Why did this happen? My opinion? Well, he has spent the last 6 months going around the world apologizing for the United States. He has said we are too arrogant. He has said that we have been bad world citizen. He said we are selfish, that we consume too much, that we give back too little. He tried to tell the world to implement reforms that he could not even get done here.

He ignored the good we have done. Ignored the 10s of thousands of people that we have liberated. Ignored the billions we give in foreign aid. Ignored the relief efforts we spearheaded. Ignored the billion plus a year that we give to the UN.

Beyond that - Obama made the pitch in Copenhagen too much about HIM. He said he wanted to takes his wife and kids to the Olympics in his old home town. Michelle told some personal stories about her family history and tried to relate them to sports.

They did not make it about the greatness of America. Ignored the huge positive impact we have had in the world. Ignored American exceptionalism. He made it about HIM. He made it personal.

Net result - Global bitch slap. Apparently the world is NOT impressed with him.

I am sorry the US did not get the Olympics. I am more sorry the he exposed, even further, the weakness that he is portraying.

So, in addition to his trying to take over the economy, quadrupling our deficit, taking over health care, running the banks, taking over the car companies, dictating executive compensation, weakening our defenses, apologizing for us all over the globe, standing idly by while North Korea nukes us, standing idly by while Iran nukes up, stalling on General McCrystal's request for more troops in Afghanistan, screwing Poland and the Czech Republic over their missile defense ... we can add to it screwing up the Olympics. It has been an awesome 9 months.

To be totally fair - Chicago may have been doomed no matter what. It has only been 12 years since the US hosted the Games. But - and this is a big but. Obama did this. He made the trip. He made it about HIM. HE put HIS reputation on the line. If Chicago had won, he would have been more than happy to take the credit. So, when it tanks...

The big losers here? The prestige of the United States. The city of Chicago. The UNIONS in Chicago. The UNIONS in Chicago. The UNIONS in Chicago. The UNIONS in Chicago. And lastly - The Messiah has egg on his face.

Roman Polanski. Since my college days, this is a name I have equated with PERVERT.

Just to remind everyone. Some 30 years ago, Polanski was accused of raping and sodomizing a 13 year old girl. This after plying her with drugs and alcohol. He plead guilty to the crime. As part of his plea deal with the prosecutor, he was to be spared any more jail time than the 45 days already served.

But then, it appeared that the judge in the case might not fall for such light treatment. This, even though Polanski was, I mean, like this really famous director and artist and everything. So, he did what any of us would do, he fled to France.

The French, apparently, were not all that bothered by all of this. Because you see, he was like this really famous director and artist and everything. So, in the land of wine, cheese, famous artists, and military incompetence - he did stay lo these many years.

Then he got invited to go to Switzerland to receive some hoity toity award for his lifetime of work as this really famous artist. But - a surprise awaited him.

The Swiss, in an act of stunning common sense, arrested his old ass on the 30 year old warrant. Apparently, they were more bothered by his crime and subsequent fleeing the jurisdiction than were the French.

Well now, according to this article, the French are in high dudgeon over the whole thing. They want him returned to France immediately.

I say BS. Little you famous artist twit - you did the crime, you do the time. Running away just put a book mark in your journey through the legal system. It did not make it go away. So, now -- your baaaacccckkk.

Folks, this is not good. The health and strength of our Republic is dependent in no small measure on the strength and independence of the press.

When you watch ABC, CNN, NBC, CBS, and especially MSNBC, or read the New York Times and Washington Post - you are seeing un-varnished, un-questioning support and advocacy for the Liberal policies of our Dear Leader.

And, it seems, Obama knows where is bread is buttered. This past weekend, he went on FIVE Sunday talk shows to tout "his" Health Care Takeover Plan. (I put "his" in quotes because he hasn't actually produced a plan.)

So, he can go on a Spanish language outlet - but could not find time for Fox? Apparently he had time for 5 shows, but not 6. (And they were mostly pre-recorded - not done actually on Sunday.)

Of course, this all might explain why these outlets are all suffering terribly in the ratings. Fox, on the other hand, is thriving. Why? According to the same poll - Fox is the most trusted network for news. Despite what the Left says - you WILL hear both sides on Fox. Why does it seem so extreme to Left? Simple - when you listen to the lefty networks - you NEVER hear an opposing view. So, when they tune to Fox and DO hear a view with which they disagree - they are stunned! It is apostasy to them. They can't process the fact that someone (clearly a racist someone) ACTUALLY voiced disagreement with Liberal Dogma.

Folks - you need to vote with your feet and fingers. Patronize news outlets on which you see both sides of an issue. Shun those that are open cheerleaders for ANY point of view.

Us wing-nut Conservatives have long been suspicious of what goes on in our Government funded, National Education Association (Teachers UNION) controlled public schools.

You see, the NEA supplies the largest number of delegates to the Democratic National convention every four years. The teachers are like lemmings when it comes to parroting Liberal dogma. They spend a LOT of time with your kids. Except, of course for the 180 days that they do not have to work.

Why are we concerned? Well, they have unfiltered access to our kids minds. They represent authority to the kids. Obviously, what the 'teacher said' carries a lot of weight. Further, as a parent, you have a very limited practical ability to know what they are being taught. Sure, you can see the published curiculum and text books. These, in a lot of cases, are enough of a horror. But, you can't hear what REALLY goes on. Well, not usually.

In the video below, you can see a glimpse. It is a tribute song to our Dear Leader. Notice the use of his middle name, Hussein! We were castigated for even mentioning it during the campaign. Apparently, if you set it to music, you are in the clear.

I hope that you would agree that it is possible to have honest disagreements with Obama on his policy positions. I would remind you that Obama, just yesterday, said exactly that. If you do not agree that honest disagreements are possible - wow!

Ok - since honest disagreements ARE possible, here is my question to you:

How would one go about expressing such a disagreement WITHOUT you drawing the conclusion that it is, in fact, based in racism? Is there some 'magic' word that one would have to utter, or avoid uttering, to pass your 'racism' test?

We know that you cannot say, as Joe Wilson, did - 'You lie!'. We know this because Maureen Dowd said that she detected an unspoken addition to the statement. What she heard was 'You lie, BOY'! I was really amazed. I listened to the Wilson comment several times. I did NOT hear the 'BOY' part of the comment. Maybe I am just tone deaf.

So, we have established the simple declarative 'You lie' is, at least to Ms. Dowd's finely tuned ear, racist.

So, again, I ask: In 2009, how does one voice disagreement with the Messiah on the substance of his policy WITHOUT triggering your racist radar?

Jimmy Carter has been the worst President of my life time. Beyond simply being totally incompetent, he was a disaster on the foreign stage. One would have hoped that he would have had the good grace to just fade away - but no. He is the darling of the Left (failure makes your star shine brightly on the Left). James Earl is an anti-Semite. He is more aligned with the pro-Palestinian militias than with Israel. You think me too harsh? Oh, did you see this? Osama bin Laden just recommended three 'must read' books. One of them is by... wait for it.... wait for it... that's right class - The Peanut Farmer himself, James Earl (Jimmy) Carter!!!

With that as background, the Incompetent one just proclaimed what has been whispered about lately: People criticize Obama because they are racists.

This is the strategy of the Left lately - anytime you don't like one of Obama's policies - it must be because you are racist!! Really? It is because you are racist? Oh my. All of the 1-2 million people at the 9/12 protest are racist? Sure, there are some that are - that is almost surely a fact. But, let's be honest - people don't like a lot of his POLICIES. They don't like the drive for control of private companies, the expanding government control, the growth of government, the shady advisers, etc.

The latest news on the health care front: 60% of Americans will qualify for something called an 'affordability' credit. What does this mean, exactly?

Well, of course, no one knows, exactly. The story supposedly is - if you earn less than 4 times the poverty limit - you will qualify. So, something like 80,000 for a family of four. Really? So, a family of 4, earning $75,000 will qualify?

Question - who will pay for this? Answer - everyone!! First, it will obviously mean tax increases for those of us left who are still paying taxes. So, if you have a job, it will be good news, bad news. The good news - you get some kind of credit. The bad news - your taxes went up, to fund your credit.

Remember the Messiah's pledge to cut taxes for 95% of Americans? I hope you never actually believed that.

And for those who DO actually get a credit (Your are welcome, I worked hard to fund it for you) - how will you pay? Mostly with your time -- waiting, and waiting to see a doctor. And then waiting and waiting for that test that you need. Then, more waiting if you are unlucky enough to need surgery. Surgery that you will qualify for only if you are not too old to make it 'cost effective'. If you doubt that, read up quick on the Canadian and English systems...

Bottom line, keep up the fight folks. We have got to stop this move towards 'single payer'. They will try to re-package it in the coming days - just to try to fool you. Don't fall for it.

Getting tort reform is important to any effort to 'fix' health care. For those of you that went to public school, tort reform means changing the rules regarding lawsuits that people bring against doctors and hospitals for supposed mistakes that they made.

I offer this video to fuel our discussion> Howard Dean's comments start at about 1:44 in. And, shockingly, I think we actually are hearing the truth from old 'primal scream' Howard!

People are fully entitled to recover all economic damage caused by a mistake. In some circumstances, they are allowed triple the economic damage - this is as it should be. If you are crippled due to malpractice, you should be entitled to lost wages, medical costs, costs for your care, etc.

What is damaging our system though, are PUNITIVE damages. These are meant to 'punish' the doctor or hospital. First of all, it is the insurance company that pays, not the doctor - so no punishment is really bestowed.

The reason these are so damaging is because of the arrangement that the ambulance chasing lawyers have. The lawyers usually get 30%+ of the damage settlement! It has created an industry where none should exist. John Edwards, for Senator, Presidential candidate, and male-slut, made over $200 million dollars this way.

Now, why do I have a problem with his having made this money - being the good conservative that I am? Simple - it was the shady WAY he made it. He sued doctors for 'mistakes' they made delivering babies. Edwards claimed these 'mistakes' led to cerebral palsy. Research has shown these were bogus claims -- the birthing process did NOT cause the cerebral palsy. But, Edwards convinced a bunch of jurors to make someone 'pay'.

Now, the cost of these lawsuits is a factor in our health care costs. But, the real damage is the indirect costs that they impose. In the 1960's, 4% of American births were by C-Section. In 2007, that number was 31%!! Nearly 1 in 3 American births are done surgically! Are you kidding me? This is a 'natural' process that woman have been doing for 1000's of years. Now, of course, we haven't had multi-multi-million dollar damage settlements for 1000's of years.

Result? Doctors do a C-section as a 'defensive' measure. A huge majority of those births, given the chance, would have concluded successfully. In the 5% of cases that need it - do the surgery. But my goodness, do you see the costs associated with 'defensive' medicine?

Lawsuits cost, directly, about 1-2% of our health care dollar. Defensive medicine adds anywhere between 8-13%. And 30-50% of lawsuit profits go directly to lawyers.

Which leads us to WHY there is no tort reform in the bill. In the video, Howard Dean (a doctor himself) admits the reason: the Dems are in bed with the trial lawyers. The lawyers are the 2nd biggest source of campaign money to the Dems - and they want to protect their right to bring these lawsuits. Hence, they are pressuring the Dems to avoid tort reform.

Dean says the did not want to 'take on' the lawyers! He talks about 'making enemies'. Well, the Dems sure as hell did not hesitate to 'take on' us average Americans. They have called us un-american, evil mongers, fascists, nazis, violent mobs, tea-baggers, and astro-turf. That sounds just like 'enemy' talk to me. How dare those bastards to bow to the lawyers and then spit on US!!!

Apparently, we don't donate enough money - so we are not 'protection'. Sounds almost like the organized crime version of 'protection' to me. It is the politicians that you and I need 'protection' FROM.

Well - the playbook of the Left is alive and (not-so) well.

After weeks of getting beat up, the White House signaled, in no uncertain terms, that it is shifting strategy. But not how one would think.

Let's have a quick re-cap of the biggest mis-steps.

The Cash-for-Clunkers (or, buy your neighbor a car) program. Even if you over-look the dubious basis for the program. You have the fact the it is a huge wealth destroyer - crushing cars that poor people could have used to get to work, or donated to charity. And the fact that a foreign automaker, Toyota, has been the biggest beneficiary. And the fact that it cost triple what was projected (typical of ALL government programs - triple really is not so bad). And the fact the the Government completely fumbled the ball on execution (again, typical). Then when you think 'and these people want to run health-care?' Yikes.
The Messiah trying to tell us that somehow the Post Office is some kind of model for competition that we can apply to the 'public' option for Health Care.
The Town Hall meetings have galvanized the great unwashed to rise-up and tell the Dems NO. Leading to us being called, in no particular order, evil-mongers, astro-turf, un-American, Fascists, Nazis, tea-baggers, obstacles, pawns, paid for by the insurance companies, and being told by the President to stop talking.
In a little-reported new story from Friday - the White House boosted it's own projection for the 10 year deficit by 2 TRILLION bollars (going for 7 to 9). Bet you didn't see that on ABCNBCCBSMSNDCNYTLATIMESCNNNPR.

So, the White House decided it was time to change strategy. By trying to be more bi-partisan? No. By trying to actually listen to what we are saying? No. By trying to start over on Health Care? Hell no.

Their idea of a change in strategy - to try to create a diversion. They have decided to start a criminal investigation of individual CIA agents in the 'torture' cases!! This after The One has told us it is time to stop looking back, and to start looking forward!!

This has caused quite a stir. Leon Panetta, the head of the CIA, apparently is threatening to resign in protest! Leon is loyal Democrat, not some Republican partisan hack!!

This is right from the Liberal playbook. Attack people who disagree with you. If that doesn't work-create a distraction to lure peoples attention away. If this case, focus on the dark deeds of the Devil: George W. Bush. Not sure how long Bush Derangement Syndrome will continue to work - I guess we shall see.

He states that it is the US Post Office that keeps prices down on overnight package delivery!! Oh, that is hilarious.

Jesse - I have a news flash for you. The Post Office LOSES money on the overnight delivery business. They underwrite overnight delivery with their over-priced First Class mail 'profits'. They keep the First Class business only they have a Constitutional monopoly on First Class mail - it is illegal for anyone else to deliver First Class mail.

Jesse - here's the real story. Fedex, UPS, and DHL FORCE the Post Office to keep down their prices on overnight package delivery. If it weren't for the money the Post Office generates on the First Class business (and the tax funded subsidy that they get) - the Post Office would be bankrupt. They would be unable to compete. Why?

Because governments cannot run businesses, period. Never did, never will. Government cannot match the passion, creativity, or discipline that is common in private enterprise. They are too used to endless subsidies from the tax payer. They have NO motivation to be efficient (seen how many TSA people it takes to staff a security checkpoint?).

So, Jesse, my suggestion to you (which was the same as for your poverty-pimping, race baiting old man) - sit down, and shut-up. Please, just shut-up.

Well Well...

This weekend, the Messiah's administration finally has backed away from the 'public option' as being a 'necessary' part of health care reform. Translation- 'We give up'.

Basically - Obama MUST pass SOMETHING that he can call reform. To fail to do so will irretrievably damage his Sainthood status. He seems to think that dumping the liberal-loved, conservative-loathed public option just might do it. Of course, the brain-damaged left blogosphere is apoplectic. Why? Because they know that the 'public option' is a needed first step to single-payer universal, Canadian style health care. This is the Holy Grail for a Socialist. But wait..... Speaking of Canada. An unfortunate turn of events (for the Anointed just occurred there.

Seems the new head of the Canadian Medical Association is of the opinion that the Canadian Health care system is in a MESS. He uses the word 'imploding' to describe it. His organization is making 'overhauling' the system a TOP priority.

One wonders what method they will use. Well, wonder no longer, gentle-reader, because we shall reveal it to you: PRIVATE INSURANCE.

That's right - they are going to fix the Canadian Health system by patterning it more after the 'failed', 'bloated', 'inefficient', 'costly' AMERICAN health care system.

If that gives you chills of patriotism - you are not alone. We have known for years that Canadians come down from our 51st State just up north to the 'lower 48' to get health care that they are refused in Canada. Now, apparently, they have gotten tired of the drive and they are moving to a system where they can get the care closer to home.

Or, it may be, the hassle of getting the passport needed to come here is more onerous than reforming the health care system. So, they decided to avoid the passport issue altogether, and are fixing the mess they created in health care instead.

This should make it exponentially (for those that went to public school - that means 'a lot') harder for American politicians to extol the virtues of a 'Canadian' style system. It SHOULD... Hopefully, they will get the memo.

We all know that the Congress critters have Gold Plated health coverage. They will never give it up - even as you stand in line at some clinic to see a Doctor you hate.

As you probably know, Senator Ted Kennedy is fighting Brain Cancer. We also know that he is 77 years old. The is also a rumor (wink wink) that he has been know to have a drink or twenty at times.

This is a question I would like to see posed to Obama:

Mr. President - Imagine a 77 year old man, live long alcoholic - who develops brain cancer. He is vibrant and vital and has a great spirit. Under your program, would he get treatment? Or would you offer him the pain pills?

In my fantasy world - he would actually respond. Probably with 'end of life decisions are the most difficult. We can't really account for a persons spirit, because the is subjective. We need rules. Sometimes, if the research shows that the operation is not likely to be effective - we may say taking the pain pills is better.'

THEN - ask him if his name being Ted Kennedy would change his answer.

Oh - just in case you think I am off the wall with my 'imagined' answer - have a read below. It is a transcript from a town mall meeting about a month ago:

Obama: “I don’t think that we can make judgments based on people’s ’spirit.’ Uh, that would be, uh, a pretty subjective decision to be making. I think we have to have rules that, uh, say that, uh, we are going to provide good quality care for all people.

... At least we can let doctors know — and your mom know — that you know what, maybe this isn’t going to help. Maybe you’re better off, uhh, not having the surgery, but, uhh, taking the painkiller.”

The latest example

Look - he was trying defend the Health Care System Takeover proposals from criticism. Specifically the idea of a 'public option' - where the government 'insurance' would 'compete' with private insurance. The charge (which is true btw) is that the government program would squeeze the private plans - because the gov't option would not be on a level playing field. It would be taxpayer subsidized and would not need to operate as a real business.

So, he trots out the example of Fedex competing with the Post Office as an example of private business vs government competition.

Are you kidding me? No matter what he was 'trying' to say - what he DID say was that the Post Office is basically broken. Compared to Fedex, it has all kinds of problems. We all know this.

But...but...but wait. Wait .... please wait.. Mr. President, Isn't the Post Office is run by the same baffoons (the Fed) that you want us to turn over our health care to?? They are bloated, have high labor costs, and are always having to raise prices on stamps, and they STILL run a deficit. The Post Office would be extinct except for their legal monopoly on First Class mail.

So - in trying to prove one point --- he clumsily reinforces one of OUR big points -- the Fed sucks at running anything that ever remotely looks like a business. We certainly do NOT want them in charge of 17% of the economy if it is going to run like the freaking Post Office.

Sir - stick to the lofty, vapid rhetoric of the tele-prompter. Cuz you suck at off the cuff speaking....I mean you really do suck.

Ok - enough complaining from my 'non-blogging' followers out there. This is tougher than it seems - especially as horrifying as B. Hussein Obama has turned out to be. Well - he is just as I expected he would be - but I am still horrified.

But - today we shall celebrate some GOOD news - Immigration Reform, according to our Dear Leader, is off the table until next year!! Good.

And since next year is an election year - I surmise this means he has given up on 'reform' until after the mid-terms. There is a reason for this. Immigration Reform is really only a method to get millions of illegal, illiterate Mexicans U.S. citizenship. Then - they become Democrat voters. The Messiah only cares about these folks being able to vote in the 2012 election. So, he is in no rush.

While on his trip to El Mexico, the Messiah said he "doesn't expect to be able to snap his fingers and change the politically charged immigration system." WHAT??? Why the hell NOT? He thinks he can reform the car companies, the banking system, global warming, and health care. What is one more 'reform'? Slacker!

Also, he said he "expects a fight" regardless of his standing in the polls and declares that he is ready for a fight. Oh, no sh*t Sherlock. It will be a Health Care Town Hall meeting redux.

He says, however, that changing the immigration system is going to have to wait until next year while he focuses on other priorities. Yah - like trying to figure out how to pull his poll ratings out of the self-inflicted nose dive that they are in.

Also, in a flash of brilliance he said "the system is broken and nobody can deny it." Finally something coherent. But we know something he does not...I know how to fix it ... pick me ... pick me ... BUILD A FENCE.

I heard about this on the radio this morning. A little poking around found the full text (and even Snopes says it is true).

Lou Pritchett, former VP at Procter and Gamble, wrote an open letter to The Messiah. He sent it to the New York Times, which of course refused to publish it. Pritchett is quite well known in business circles, having written the book 'Stop paddling and start rocking the boat". Follows is his letter in it's entirety. I interject some of my comments in parenthesis. Again, we do the job the NYT refuses to do.

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.
You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you. (Where has the press been?)

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core. (And you don't understand the nature of evil - that makes the military necessary)

Finally someone has put action behind the widely held belief (at least among those that are paying attention) that the Federal Government's 'bailout' of the auto industry is, shall we say, questionable.

Back in 2008 Congress passed the TARP bill. (I doubt the Constitution allows this - but the Constitution does not seem to matter anymore in this country). This authorized the government to spend up to $700 billion to purchased 'troubled' assets from FINANCIAL institutions. The common understanding of 'financial' institutions would NOT include, for instance, General Motors. Later, the House passed a bill (which the Senate rejected) a bill to authorize money to bail out the car companies.

So, this raises the obvious point: Since congress tried to specifically authorize an auto bail out - they knew it had not already done so under TARP.

John Spratt, Chair of the House Budget committee said back in April:

“I would think that for a government officer to extend a warranty that will create a liability for the government, an act of law would be required,”

The 'warranty' of which he speaks is the government backing the auto warranties of GM. It creates a liability for the government. This is something congress must authorize - it in NOT in the President's authority to do so on his own.

Fast forward to now. The State of Indiana is challenging the use of government funds on the Chrysler bailout on both legal and/or Constitutional grounds. Finally!! The State is representing the interests of a couple of State Employee pension funds that held stakes in Chrysler. These 'working families' have gotten hosed in the deal. The secured creditors (bond holders) were treated unfairly.

If this suit succeeds - and it SHOULD - what happens? Well, first the Chrysler bail out will be derailed. This is fine - bankruptcy court awaits.

The more interesting question is the already completed GM fiasco. It the suit succeeds, it will lead to the de-facto conclusion the The Messiah acted ILLEGALLY in the GM situation. He will essentially be found to have violated the LAW. No, we do not hold out much hope that this will matter. But, it certainly will shine the light more directly on the inappropriate nature of His Highness' actions.

This interference in private business must be stopped. I hope this suit is part of the weaponry to do so. If we don't stop this, the days of a booming private sector economy are numbered. We will start to look like England back before Margaret Thatcher righted their ship.

Unless you have been living in a cave with Bin-Laden, you know that far-left Sonia Sotomayor was recently nominated to the Supreme Court by the far-left Messiah.

I personally strongly object to this nominee. Not so much that she is a leftist, though, of course this does not thrill me. Elections have consequences - this is one of them.

My objection has to do with her judicial philosophy. It can be summed up in one candid comment, caught on video:

The court of appeals is where policy is made

Now, we have always known this. When the Left cannot get their ideas implemented at the ballot box - they revert to the courts. The Right is always complaining about 'Judicial Activism'. By this they mean the court making policy from the bench - that has the full force of law. Their proper role is to simply judge whether a law is in line with what the Constitution actually says (as opposed to what one might wish it said).

Despite the fact that she WILL be confirmed, I shall make a couple of brief observations.

She said that a Latino woman, with her rich experience, would make better LEGAL decisions than a white man without those experiences! Can you imagine had a White man said a similar thing? How about 'White Men with their superior upbringing will make better decisions than a black raised in a housing project'? . So, the judge is a RACIST.
She is a member of the Hispanic group 'La Raza'. Their motto - 'For the Race (Hispanic) everything, outside the Race, nothing'. How does that strike you? Sounds like something from the KKK. So,she is STILL a racist.
Of the 6 opinions that she has written that have been reviewed by the Supreme Court - 5 have been overturned. Awesome. She is out of touch with the realities of modern juris prudence.
She dismissed, in ONE paragraph, the race discrimination suit by a group of fire-fighters from New Haven. The case is interesting because the fire-fighters are white. The city gave a promotion test - and not 'enough' minorities passed. So, the city CANCELLED the promotion. The lead plaintiff, Ricci, suffers from Dyslexia. It took tremendous effort for him to pass(he got the 6th highest score). But, in effect, the Judge said since Ricci was not black, it did not matter. Court watchers expect the current Court to concur with Ricci and re-instate the test and promotion.
This one is not her fault. All I heard the first few days after the announcement was 'rich life experience' and 'empathy from the bench'. Bull. The Dems did not care about Clarence Thomas' life experience. Nor did they care about that of Doris Rogers Brown. And since when is 'empathy' a qualification for being on the Supreme Court? The legislatures are where 'empathy' is expressed. The Supreme Court is to simply rule as to whether that 'empathy' violates the Constitution. So - she lacks rigor.
Even the Liberal legal analysist Jonathon Turley noted that Sotomayor does not have the intellectual firepower to sit on the Supreme Court. It appears she lacks intellectual heft (or gravitas).

Make no mistake - she will be confirmed. She is Hispanic, has female genitals, and is a Liberal. So the rest will not matter. This is simply an affirmative action nominee.

Folks - this is what you get when you elect a Leftist, Statist, Marxist for President. And as he said in a recent speech: 'You ain't seen nothing yet'. It will take a generation or more to undo the damage that this guy is visiting on us.

Indicating that Rush Limbaugh wanted the country to fail - just like Osama bin Laden (her words). To set the facts straight - Limbaugh said he wanted The Messiah to fail in his attempts to bring socialist policies to the US.

She said he probably did it when he was strung out on Oxy.

I thought the Left thinks all addiction is a disease. Not very PC of Wanda! (Just holding them to their own standards.)
She the said she hope Rush's kidneys would fail.

And the left gets in SUCH a lather if someone on the Right were to say something as
'mean-spirited'.

What makes what Wanda said newsworthy? Well, The Messiah himself was there to hear it. And laughed right along with everyone else at every line. So much for 'lowering the partisanship' and 'healing our souls'. Right on there Barack.

2) In comparison, the golf announcer David Feherty wrote a column, which said in part:

"From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this though, despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death."

And now, bowing to pressure, he is apologizing!!! BS. For what? For telling the God's honest truth? That there are legions of people in this country who have the same feeling - that Queen Nancy is a traitor. Notice the Mr. Feherty did NOT wish a bad fate on the Queen - he was simply pointing out the obvious TRUTH - there are people who dislike Ms. Pelosi's policy choices.

I for one am embarrassed for the people of California for electing that retard to office...again and again.

This all just proves once again (as if it were needed) - that 'when you are a Democrat, it is different'. It is different because you can say what you want, insult who you want, lie about who you want,...and wish death on who you want. You will get zero negative feedback from the 'watchdog' press - zero.

Not to worry - we bring you updates the big boys are too afraid to touch. In this story, we read about one of the circumstances that makes us Pro-Gun and Pro-2nd Amendment.

Turns out two dirtbags broke into an apartment full of students. The assailants were masked and armed. Their apparent reason was robbery, rape, and probably murder.

Luckily - a heads up student retrieved a gun from his backpack and killed one of the assailants. He was probably prohibited from legally carrying in campus. So, hiding in the backpack was probably a more discreet idea. Wish more students would do this - only makes sense in this day and age. Oh - The second scumbag jumped out a window and escaped.

This brave student stopped the 'cycle of violence' - just like the Left is always squawking about. Of course, killing the guy that started the violence is probably not what they have in mind. Screw them then. If they want to get raped and murdered because they don't want to fight back against the 'misunderstood' bad guy --- Have at it.

For me and my house - we will defend our lives if needed.

ACORN in the news again - Will Obama ever care?

ACORN is in the news once again. It seems over the last months this has been the case numerous times. They are being indicted for voter registration fraud. And lest you think this is some vast right wing conspiracy, Even John Conyers, a DEMOCRAT is suggesting they be investigated. An interesting blog focused on ACORN abuses can be found here.

What is ACORN? They describe themselves as 'community organizers'. Remember, that was Obama's main experience prior to being in the Senate - a 'community organizer'. ACORN is a way-left organization that has come to prominence for their activities in Democrat funding voter registration efforts. They have been the target of various criminal probes in at least 11 states. Their alleged activities have centered around fraudulent voter registration drives. These are said to have resulted in tens of thousands of bogus voter registrations.

They also recently orchestrated 'spontaneous' protests to prevent police from evicting people from houses that they had illegally occupied after the owners were foreclosed on.

They also have ties to The Messiah, going back a decade or more.

Why does this matter? Well, they have been hired by the Obama White House to provide temporary workers to 'help' with the upcoming census! The whole census is already a mess. It is normally run by the Commerce Department. But, for reasons one can probably easily guess, The Messiah has put the control of the 2010 census in the hands of his Chief of Staff, Rahm (who said 'Never let a good crisis go to waste) Emanuel.

So, we have:

The census under direct control of the White House.
We have ACORN deeply involved in the census
A long history of The One's relationship with ACORN (or organizations directly affiliated with ACORN)
A multi-year, multi-state record of alleged corrupt activities by ACORN

What can we infer from this?

The Messiah is getting ready to try to sway the census
He is doing so by using an organization with a long history of corruption
This can well cause an illegal tilt in the head count
The census is used for determining the number of House seats a state gets, as well as the funding that goes to cities within a state.
We can expect a huge over-counting in areas that already lean Democratic.

Folks, this is corruption of a breath-taking scale. BHO is subverting one of the foundations of our system. He is utilizing a criminal organization to do so.

Where is the outrage? And - where the HELL is the PRESS. If a Republican tried this we would already be hearing about Articles of Impeachment being drawn up.

We often note the intellectual dishonesty of the Left. We accuse them of not being willing to debate ideas on an intellectual level. Once again, the evidence shows - we are right.

There is news about the ongoing attempt to make you believe that you are destroying the planet. And that only massive, expensive government intervention can help. And - this from no less a Liberal icon than the New York Times. Apparently a memo has gone out from some group called EcoAmerica. The gist of the memo: suggestions as to how to make you more likely to accept Environmental Socialism by changing the 'words' used to describe it. To wit:

Stop using the term 'global warming'. Apparently it puts people off.

Now, it seems to me,the fact that the planet is cooling would also be a good reason. But, that was not mentioned in the memo.
Use the term “our deteriorating atmosphere.” (Of course, it is actually improving)
Also good is the all encompassing "climate change" - which, of course, means nothing. But it sounds so ominous.
Don't talk about carbon dioxide. (Hey - it's just another word for 'plant food'.)
Say "moving away from the dirty fuels of the past". (Hmm.. Nothing about the ultimate clean fuel - Nuclear.)
Don’t confuse people with cap and trade;
use terms like “cap and cash back” or “pollution reduction refund.”
“Another key finding: remember to speak in TALKING POINTS aspirational language about shared American ideals, like freedom, prosperity, independence and self-sufficiency while avoiding jargon and details about policy, science, economics or technology,”

Trouble with those aspirational words: the Left has no idea what they actually mean. I mean - how does a Liberal think freedom, prosperity, and independence mesh with his idea of an ever-expanding Federal Government?

Folks, they are just trying to pull a fast one. They know that you care about POLLUTION. But they also know - that you know - that Carbon Dioxide is NOT pollution. And that global warming in BS....

So, they are simply going to try to trick you by changing the language that they use. Don't let them get away with it.

When challenged to name something, even one thing, specific The Messiah has done - of course, as will most Liberals, Bennett could think of nothing of substance. So, he offered this vacuous praise:
“He has such a great way of communicating, and his thoughts and his philosophies are just astounding,” (Yah - astoundingly shallow)

And because most Celebritards are 'citizens of the world' who don't think America is something special:
“I really hope that every citizen of the United States would imitate the rest of the world because they’re all for Obama,”
“Every other country adores what happened – in our great country – to have him as president.”

Tony, we don't give a damned what other countries think of OUR presidents.

Tony is a very good singer. A political philosopher? Not so much. Now you could chalk this up to Tony's age (80+) - but that would be an insult to most 80+ers. No, his problem is he is a celebritard. He thinks we need to hear him just because he gets a microphone stuck in his face.

Tony (and Ms. Striesand, and Paris, Demi/Ashton, and Sean Penn...) - if you want to comment on the music or movie business - fine. Otherwise, please just shut-up and sing.

The real trouble for Conservatives

There is a lot of tooth gnashing and wailing on the Right of the political spectrum these days. And there should be. The republicans, the only viable home for conservatives, is in a shambles. There is a lot of talk about 'why' they are in such bad shape.

Some people blame the war, some try to blame torture, some the environment, abortion, etc. But, I don't think it is any of those. It is much more fundamental and ominous than that. I think Americans have tacitly accepted the bill of goods that the Democrats have been selling. That is: You will be better off if you let the government take care of you.

In this article, Peggy Noonan writes the following:

...perhaps most ominously, what appears to be a new national openness to a redefinition of the relationship between the government and the governed.

I must say, sadly, that I agree. Given the results of the last election, and the poll results recently, one is forced to conclude certain things about the way the majority of Americans think:

They don't see what is really that wrong with a huge federal government
They have no idea what the term 'states rights' means
They are 'ok' with the idea that 'someone' else should provide for them
They see nothing wrong with the Federal Government being a major stakeholder in American companies
They know nothing about, and care even less about, Constitutional limits on government
They have lost the spirit that made us great.
They won't mind being just like Europe.
They don't 'get' the fact that when you say 'the government' will pay for it - that means we ALL pay for it. We just don't get to decide how the money is spent

Is this a failing of the Republican party? No, not really. It is the result of 40 years of effort by the Left. The Left has infected

Education
Media
Law and Judges
Politics

And the Right let them.

Starting with Education - both college and below. The educational institutions in this country are swamps of liberal indoctrination. Political Correctness has replaced vigorous debate. And Tenure protects even High School teachers.
As we have written here before, the Media is completely in the tank for the Liberal idea. They used to, at least, try to give the impression of impartiality. They now don't even bother with that.
The judiciary in this country, by and large, has become intoxicated with its own power. They now simply insert their own judgements for those of the people. They then simply invent a 'right' to cover their tracks.
The politicians, of both parties, have raised pandering to an art form. They both promise this program and that benefit. Because of our own cravenness, coupled with our ignorance of our own history, we have accepted the proposition that government should give us these things.

My conclusion? I fear that we have turned a corner, crossed the Rubicon. Barring a miracle the Repubs can't retake the House in 2010. The cards are stacked against them gaining any seats in the Senate. So, The Messiah will have free reign to do what he wants until at least 2012. By then, the damage done would take a full generation to undo.

Of course, wanting to 'undo the damage' will be premised by two unlikely turning of tides

People realize that something is very, very wrong
They are able to ascertain the true cause.

Given the state of our education system - I find this HIGHLY unlikely.

My prognosis for the country? Well, it depends on your viewpoint.

For conservatives: pain. Long-term, gut wrenching, depressing pain at having to watch what is going to be happening. We will point it out, offer alternatives, and be ignored.

For Liberals: Joy. We can finally be Europe. You will be able to control more and more of peoples lives and treasure. You can continue to set rules and regulations. The reality of the damage you are doing to this great country, though, will never occur to you.

The rest of you: Confusion. You will probably recognize the creeping loss of freedom at some point. Maybe when grandma can't get that hip replacement because the 'guidelines' say she is 'outside the efficacious' group. Translation - she is too old and we can't afford it. You will rage against the 'system'. But, will you be able to identify the true culprit? And if so, will it matter? The answers are in front of you now - but you have missed them.

So, in the meantime - enjoy your family and friends. And hold on tight - because we are headed for a bumpy ride.

Looking for ANYONE that believes this

We have started the debate on the so-called Cap and Trade plan. This plan is nothing more than a way for the Dems to levy a huge tax on each one of us - while claiming that they are fighting the (non-existent) problem of Carbon Dioxide (plant food) in the atmosphere.

The Republicans claim it will cost upwards of $3,000 per family per year in increased prices due to the huge impact this legislation will have on the cost of energy. Now, I have no idea if that figure is correct or not.

The Democrats, as expected, dispute the figure. They quote a price 1/10 what the Republicans are saying. If we say the real number is the average of the two - that is still over $1,500 per year - to solve an non-existent problem.

But, I want to point out a particular point that glared out to me in the Dems explanation regarding the price:

...that Republicans are not taking into account the point that the federal government plans to return to the American people part of the money paid by corporations for the right to release carbon into the atmosphere -- and that the government also plans to provide Americans with goods and services funded by the cap-and-trade program.

I am looking for anyone in the country who believes:

the federal government plans to return to the American people part of the money. If you do believe it, please leave a comment. I would like to know what kind of feel good drugs that you take.

or who WANTS:

I don't believe the first statement. There is ZERO chance of any money that makes it to Washington ever getting returned. And if you plan on returning it anyway - don't bother taking it in the first place.

And the government going to provide us with goods and services? What the hell part of the Constitution do have have to read to get THAT?

This whole Cap and Trade is just a BIG FAT TAX. Do not believe otherwise for even a second...

Just change the pronoun 'her' to 'Obama' and you will understand all you need to know about the 'questioning' The Messiah got.

Folks, journalism is oh-so-dead in this country. As we pointed out in a previous post - the press has crawled all the way into bed with this guy. They pulled the covers up around their chins and are whispering sweet nothings into each others ears. 'Sweet Nothings' - that was the degree of hard hitting questions we were treated to.

Here are some examples:

Pakistan appears to be at war with the Taliban inside their own country. Can you reassure the American people that if necessary America could secure Pakistan's nuclear arsenal and keep it from getting into the Taliban's hands or, worst case scenario, even al Qaeda's hands?

--Oh - tough question. What's he going to say, NO, I cannot make that assurance?
Mr. President. On Senator Specter's switch to the Democratic Party, you said you were thrilled; I guess nobody should be surprised about that.

--Ouch - now THAT was hard hitting.
Is the Republican Party in the desperate straits that Arlen Specter seems to think it is?

--What does his opinion of the Republican party have to do with many important issues of the day? This is the best question this dufus could come up with?
During these first 100 days, what has surprised you the most about this office? Enchanted you the most from serving in this office? Humbled you the most? And troubled you the most?

-Did he really ask that. Hey - did you notice the word 'enchanted'? And you thought I made that up!

Let's put this in perspective. These guys have the national spotlight when they ask a question. It is their chance to really ask some prickly, hard hitting questions. And if the question gets ducked, someone can ask a followup question. And they have very limited time - so they should be efficient in their questioning. A couple of examples come to mind:

How are we going to afford to pay the multi-trillion dollar bill that your National Health care plan will cost? Do you intend to borrow it? Will we have to print more money - which will lead to inflation?
Don't you think it was below the dignity of the President of the United States to accept the gift of a book, in full public view, from the dictator Chavez, which basically blames all the the Western Hemispheres problems on the United States?
Don't you think it was below the dignity of the President of the United States to be hugging Hugo Chavez when he believes that the US is the biggest threat to world stability that there is?
Don't you think it was below the dignity of the President of the United States to stand passively by while Daniel Ortega denigrated this great country for it's role in fighting communism in Nicaragua?
How do you answer critics you content that the governments owning of significant voting shares in all of these banks, auto companies, and insurance giants is a precursuer to outright government control?
What are you going to tell the American people when they realize that the 'cap and trade' policy that you are proposing will cost the average household over $3,000 per year total - to fight a problem, global warming, that a growing MAJORITY of Americans do not even believe is man made?

I don't know - that just would not seem so hard to me. Where was the toughness? Where was the tension? Where was the probing?

Unless - there is such a love affair going on between this guy and the press that

I think I should be more upset by this than I am. The always annoying Arlen Specter (Even his name, Arlen, annoys me) has finally decided to become an actual Democrat. Up till now, he was a RINO (Republican In Name Only). Why did he decide this?

Well, he is very unpopular with the Republican voters in PA. He barely beat a primary challenge four year ago. And, if the polls are even close to being right, he had a zero chance of getting the Republican nomination in 2010. So, he did what was in his best interest - he jumped to the Democratic side. By most accounts, he is quite likely to hold on to his seat now that he has a 'D' after his name.

Now, this puts the Dems with one vote of a filibuster proof majority. Translation: Once that idiot Franken take the Minnesota seat, they will be able to do WHATEVER they want in the Senate. But, I must ask, what has really changed?

You could never could on Arlen to side with us. He voted with The Messiah on the recent Porkulis bill. As Harry Reid noted, 'He is always with us when we don't need him!' We can only assume he would have stuck it to us again. So, for all intents and purposes, he was already contributing to the Dem majority.

Now, one question does loom. He said a few weeks ago that he was again the 'Card Check' bill. He re-affirmed that today. That would be good news. He would be voting against the will of his new party. Message to Dems - you probably should get used to that - we sure as hell had to - and it is freaking ANNOYING. Of course, he re-affirmed about a week ago that he was NOT leaving the party - so - so much for assurances.

All in all - I say good riddance to a long term pain in our collective asses. But, get ready for 18 months of hell in the Senate!

Get behind Pat Toomey - so we can get a real Republican in that seat in 2010.

An Italian Cruise ship denied pirates access to the ship by FIRING on them! Now, it should be noted that it was actually Israeli forces on board that manned the guns. You can always count on the Israelis if you REALLY need to protect something.

Good for them. Good for the cruise ship owner for having the balls to arm his vessel. Also, for having the good sense to use well trained Israeli security forces.

The White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, recently 'graded' the Press Corps. He gave them an 'A'. Not just an 'A', but a STRONG A. Whatever could this mean?

Well, most likely, it is an indication of just what willing 'lapdogs' the press has been towards The Messiah and his staff. The coverage has been fawning and almost romantic.

Of course, this is simply an extension of what we saw during the campaign. If you wanted to hear any serious questions you had to read blogs, or the Washington Times, or tune into Fox News. That is, of course, why Fox is singled out as 'Right Wing'.

Because, in this age, anyone who questions the Messiah MUST, almost by definition be a Right Wing Nut Job. The MSM is SO far in the tank for The One - they are now trying to convince anyone who will listen that questioning the Messiah is 'divisive', 'hate full, or the old standby - 'racist'.

Which gets us back to the grade given the MSM by Gibbs. The press is given special Constitutional protection:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

As a quick aside - Keep your eye out for 'Hate Crimes' legislation on it's way that are really 'Speech Codes', like happened in England and Canada. Pastors can no longer speak out on homosexuality, abortion, etc. for fear of prosecution.

Anyway - so what has the Press in this country done with the freedom and protection outlined in the Bill of Rights? WASTED IT!! You don't need constitutional protection to be a 'yes' man, to give fawning coverage, to avoid asking hard questions. NO. You need the protection to challenge the Messiah on his past associations, question his Birth record; challange him on his tripling the deficit; his pitiful $100 Million cost cutting (after raising spending by TRILLIONS); his selection process for his cabinet; why Janet Napalitano still has a job; why Geitner still has a job; why he gave better treatment to Hugo Chavez that he did to the British Prime Minister; what now with North Korea?; what now with Iran?.....and on and on.

All these questions have, for all intents and purposes, been ignored. They will continue to be ignored. Now, they MAY ask a question about a 'sensitive' topic. But - big BUT - they take whatever lame answer is given. Even when the answer is bogus on its face. No further scrutiny, no hard hitting followup.

Why? Cuz the press still LOVES the Messiah. They act as one big cheering section. They don't want to be called 'anti-Obama' or 'racist'. Also, they don't want to be ostracized by their liberal press buddies. They don't want to endanger their invitation to the cocktail party circuit.

There should be a natural tension between the press and the object of the coverage. The press is supposed to probe and dig. They should not just 'accept' whatever lame answer is offered. They need 'follow up' questions. They should ask 'uncomfortable' questions. It is a disgrace the way they have pussyfooted around with this guy.

And it spills over to other topics like the Tea Parties. The Liberals are scared to death of this movement. It represents the first widespread indication that there is a big undercurrent of taxpayer discontent out here. The press did their best to minimize the parties, to chalk them off to 'big' organizers, to call the Astroturf-as opposed to Grass Roots. This is the White House's bidding folks.

The press should grow a set. They need an infusion of self-respect and spine. And they wonder why all these newspapers are failing? And why Fox News rules the ratings. In law enforcement, they would call this a 'clue'.

Americans need not apologize to the world for their arrogance; rather, Americans should apologize to their forefathers for the arrogance of their president.

Barack Obama's first foreign trip as President of the United States has confirmed the naiveté so many of us feared during the election cycle. But worse than that, it has also demonstrated that our president suffers from either a complete misunderstanding of our heritage and history, or an utter contempt for it. Neither is excusable.

Garnering cheers from the French of all people, President Obama declared, "In America, there is a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive." Consider that Obama spoke these words just 500 miles from the beaches of Normandy, where the sand is still stained with 65-year-old blood of "arrogant Americans."

Indeed, columnist Mark Whittington observes, "One should remind Mr. Obama and the Europeans how America has 'shown arrogance' by saving Europe from itself innumerable times in the 20th Century. World War I, World War II, the Cold War, and the wars in the Balkans were largely resolved by American blood, treasure, and leadership." But all that appears lost on the president's seemingly insatiable quest to mend fences he imagines have been tarnished by the bullish George W. Bush.

If Obama wishes to continue trampling the presidential tradition of showing class to former office holders and publicly trash Bush for his own personal gain, so be it. But all Americans should make clear that no man – even if he is the president – will tarnish the legacy of those Americans who have gone before us. Ours is not a history of arrogance. It is a history of courage, self-sacrifice, and honor.

When abusive monarchs repressed the masses, Americans resisted and overthrew them. When misguided policies led to the unjust oppression of fellow citizens, Americans rebelled and overturned them. When millions of impoverished and destitute wretches sought a new beginning, Americans threw open the door and welcomed them. When imperial dictators were on the march, Americans surrendered their lives to stop them. When communist thugs threatened world peace, Americans bled to defeat them. When an entire continent was overwhelmed with famine and hunger, Americans gave of themselves to sustain it. When terrorist madmen killed the innocent and subjugated millions, Americans led the fight to topple them.

This is the legacy that generations of Americans have left. If President Obama seeks stronger relations with the world community, perhaps he should begin by reminding them of these very truths, rather than condemning his own countrymen on foreign shores.

This "obsessive need to put down his own country," has caused blogger James Lewis to call President Obama a "stunningly ignorant man" who has evidently never spoken to a concentration camp survivor, a Cuban refugee, a boat person from Vietnam, a Soviet dissident, or a survivor of Mao's purges.

Unfortunately, I can no longer bring myself to give Mr. Obama that benefit of the doubt. Not after looking at the pain in my grandpa's eyes...a man who still carries shrapnel in his body from his service to this country.

As a student and teacher of history, I recognize that America has made mistakes...plenty of them, in fact. But one of the great things about our people has been their courage and humility in admitting and correcting those mistakes. God willing, they will prove that willingness again in four years and correct the mistake that is the presidency of Barack Obama.

Nancy Pelosi (I know - having her here is redundant on its face-sorry) for saying she was never briefed on 'enhanced' interrogation methods (i.e. Water Boarding). Lots of people who got briefed with her said she was there. But, due to security concerns, the briefing will not be discussed by the briefers. So, officially, her deception stands. She is an idiot for thinking we believe her.
Barney Frank for saying people should have freedom to smoke dope, gamble on the Internet, but not in their personal financial dealings. If only Mr. Fwank was speaking of illegal financial activities. He was not. He was speaking of financial transactions that might negatively impact others. Oh my - how very concerned he must be. Had he only been so concerned BEFORE he helped cause the credit market meltdown in the first place.
Anyone who attended the so-called Racism Summit - AKA Durbin II. Supposedly this conference is about ending racism and enhancing civil rights. Let's look at some of the attendees: Libya (Chairman), Iran, South Africa, Algeria,and Saudi Arabia. Really?

The main goal of the conference is to bash Israel as it relates to ... well, anything. The stated whipping boy is the Palestinian 'question'. But, as will nearly all UN sponsored activities - it will be all Anti-Israel all the time.

First Homeland security issued a report impugning: Veterans, Anti-abortion folks, people who think the Federal Government is too big, gun owners. Also, if you resist the role of the Fed - it is because you are pissed that a black man is president.

Then she said the 9/11 hijackers came in through Canada. And that the Canadian border was as big a problem as the Mexican Border.

Then she said ILLEGAL Immigration is not a crime - it is a civil infraction!. I guess I am unclear about the meaning of the term 'illegal'.
Sean Penn for saying Hugo Chavez is a 'warm' and 'friendly' man. Was that before he nationalized most of the industry in Venezuela and jailed his opponents?

Deception on the Climate Front

Congress is in the progress of holding 'hearings' on the so-called 'cap and trade'. This is a disaster in the making. What is cap and trade you may ask. It is the concept that the Govt will CAP how much CO2 you can produce. Then, if you need to produce more (which you certainly will), you 'trade' for that right. What, exactly, does this mean? Trade is code for 'going to cost you lots of money'.

The people working for the EPA will certainly set a businesses 'cap' way below the level by which a business could survive. This will be by design - because they WANT businesses punished - it is tax revenue.
The 'trade' part is just another name for a TAX for the 'right' to burn fossil fuels
Power plants will be hardest hit. Their business is burning fossil fuels as a way producing electricity for YOU!
This TAX will be passed on directly to YOU.
This whole BS is NOT about 'pollution'. It is about CO2, so-called greenhouse gases. This is supposed to be fight man-made 'global warming'. There is no such thing as man-made global warming-period. It is about the not happening. Any global warming is due to the SUN. Anyone who tells you differently has gulped the enviro-wacko koolaid.

So, now we have set the stage. Now this is the deception:

There are congressional hearings going on. The High Priest of Global warming, AlGore was invited to testify.
A Global Warming Skeptic was NOT allowed testify. So much for the free flow of ideas
Henry Waxman, in this video actually tries to make the case that the bill in front of congress is designed to 'contain' energy costs! Ok - right. LIAR. Henry is a detestable little man - and he is a global warming ZEALOT. Trying to actually hold down energy costs is NOT in his DNA.
We did get the truth for John Dingell in this video. Now, John is a DEMOCRAT. He is a congressman from Michigan. He has the interests of the auto makers at heart. He states the obvious: Cap and Trade is a HUGE TAX.

The impression that this leaves?

When they can - the Democratic leaders will control the message. They will exclude dissenting voices.
When they cannot muzzle their own members - they will punish them. Dingell already lost a powerful chairmenship over this issue
They will outright LIE to your face.
They continue to hope that you are stupid - and not paying attention.

Time to wake up folks. You need to mobilize and reach your congress critter. Let them know you thing Global Warming is a HOAX. And that you don't want your taxes raised by the cap and trade scheme.

The Messiah stumbles and bumbles once again

The Messiah is letting his complete lack of depth show through - as well as that of his advisers. The subject this time: so-called 'torture'.

Now, we are talking about 'waterboading'. This, in the view of most people, is NOT torture. It involves making a suspect 'think' they are drowning - but they are not really drowning. It is terrifying, yes. Does it leave permanent damage, NO.

But, no matter. On the campaign trail BHO was adamant that is WAS torture. He said it was both wrong and 'ineffective'. He promised to prosecute those that practiced it.

Now, as he has actual facts about the procedure, and the results? Well, he is stumbling all over himself. As this article clearly points out.

Waterboarding was shown to be VERY effective against one of the 9-11 planners. It got information that was used to prevent a subsequent attack. Sometimes when this administration talks about it they acknowledge that fact - other times they manage to leave it out.

At one point, The One said they would not prosecute those that approved these techniques. The next day we are told that the Justice Department could 'make up it's own mind'.

He is saying different things to appease different groups. The hard left Anti-War, Anti-American crowd wants Bush and Cheney in handcuffs for this so-called torture. Most Americans, when hearing what waterboarding ACTUALLY is - and the results it generated - do not object to its use. They certainly don't want ex-presidents prosecuted for keeping us safe. Neither, I think, does The Messiah. It is bad form to prosecute your predecessor over a policy dispute. Because someday you will be out of office and you would not like the same thing done to you.

What does this point out? I think it shows:

A lack of a true understanding of the war on terror
A lack of grasp of what we are facing - and what we must do to combat it
A lack of a true moral center - they are more worried about the politics of this than they are about American security.
A lack of maturity. It is basically say whatever you have to to whatever group you happen to be talking to
A lack of understanding about how serious the words of the President are taken.
A lack of mature adults in the White House - both Obama and his staff

Folks - there are people out there that want you dead. They think nothing of blowing you up, cutting your head off, or killing your children. If we have to simulate drowning a few of them in order to put a stop to it --- go for it.

The folks that are trying to kill us will not hate us less because we are a little 'nicer' to them. That is just plain naive and stupid. Just like the folks surrounding the current occupant of the White House.

The Messiah, at long last, is getting serious about cutting the budget... NOT!!

Ok, here is the deal. After 3 months in office, the Messiah has proposed and/or passed TRILLIONS of dollars of NEW spending. Trillions.. What is a Trillion?

For those of you that went to public school and learned 'new' math:

A Trillion is a thousand BILLION
A Billion is a thousand MILLION
So, a Trillion is a Million Million...
So, a Trillion is really big... I mean.. huge.

So what is The One doing to cut the budget? He has asked his cabinet officials to find ways to cut 100 MILLION in spending!! 100 MILLION!!! Are you kidding me? I checked several sources - because I did not believe BHO could be so boned-headed. Alas, I was wrong.

The government cutting 100 Million

Is like a family making $50,000 a year cutting FIVE dollars!
It is 1/10,000th of the Cabinet budgets
It is like a company with 10,000 employees laying off ONE
Imagine your doctor tells you to lose weight - so you cut out one apple a YEAR
To save water - for ONE day a year - you cut 30 seconds off or your morning shower.

People, if it were not so sad, this would be laughable.

And the saddest thing? B. Hussein gave his cabinet 90 days to propose the cuts. 90 Days? They could do this in 90 seconds.

Is this the 'change' that people voted for? Is this 'leadership'? No - it is bullship - pure and simple. Since most people do not pay very close attention - and don't know a trillion, from a billion, from a Brazilian (a person born in Brazil) - they are likely to fall for this.

This is all smoke and mirrors people. It is like the gas station raising gas to $200 bucks a gallon - and then running a 'special' deal - for 2 CENTS off per gallon. Don't fall for it.... When is the next TEA party?

Stunning, world altering news out of the Miss USA pageant!!!

Ok - I still do not believe that I am actually writing about this. But, how often can you write about woman in bikinis and bash a gay-blogger all at the same time?

Apparently, as this article reports, there was quite a stink at the Miss USA pageant this weekend. A gay-blogger, Perez Hilton, asked a question about the contestants opinion of Gay Marriage. Now, Perez, who apparently was born with Male genitals, calls himself the 'queen of all media'. So, one can infer his opinion on the subject of Gay Marriage.

Miss California, much to her credit, decided NOT to be politically correct. She said that the way she was raised caused her to believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. OH NO!!! How could she? The horror!! The scandal. Well, Mr. Hilton was not amused and voiced is disbelief at such an insensitive comment.

I have a couple of reflections:

First of all - I am offended by all beauty pageants or anything else that objectifies women. HAH! This is so untrue I almost spit my Merlot out through my nose as I wrote it. For the record - anything that gets pretty women on-stage in a bikini is a good thing.
What the hell is a Gay man doing as a judge at a pageant full of women? Oh wait - I know... They love the shoes!
Don't ask a political question at a pageant unless the answer is 'world peace'.
Don't expect everyone else to share your sensibilities about a topic like this, dumbass. California voted to ban Gay marriage. That means there are people there that voted for that position. That means there is a chance the contestant from CA might agree with it. You should have asked her a whirled peas question.
Just know that I am so glad someone bitch-slapped you on national TV.

Of course, and this goes without saying, Miss California did not win. Of course she didn't. Was her answer the deciding factor? Well - she might not have won even with a PC, speech code friendly answer.

But - when she answered as she did - she (and everyone else) knew she was doomed.

This is energy independence?

During the dark days known as the Carter administration, a new Cabinet level Federal department was created. It was created for the purpose of REDUCING our dependence on FOREIGN oil. This department is known as the Department of Energy.

As with all Federal Government initiatives - this been a total failure. No worries though, we will keep at it. Spending more money, regardless of the obvious failure.

To add to this delicious mess, we have this article. It describes how a plan to increase domestic drilling was stopped by a judge. Once again, the environmental lobby has thwarted an attempt to expand our domestic production. If you want to reduce the dependence on foreign oil, you can 1)Reduce Demanad (which stifles economic growth); 2) Create alternate energies (Nuclear!); 3) Drill our own oil.

As expected the enviro-weenies block the only 2 options for more energy creation - no more drilling, no nukes. If they have their way - we would be left with reducing demand. This, of course, would cripple our economy. But, since the global socialist movement has found a home in the so-called environmental movement - crippling and controlling our economy is what we can expect.

The Navy SEALS are arguably the most elite fighting force in the world. Their selection process is brutal, their training extremely difficult.

Most of the incidents that they are probably involved in are the ones that we never hear about. But, once in a while, they get the credit they deserve.

This article reports one such case. It seems some Somali pirates had the bad judgement to hijack an American Flagged vessel. The SEALS we called in and saved the Captain.

And, it should be said, saved The Messiah in the process. He can now tout the strength of his resolve and the wise use of the military. And he needs to do this right now. Why?

Well, if early indications are true - he is planning big cuts in the military budgets. We will be back in Carter territory. If he gets his way - it is not clear the military will continue to possess the capabilities put on display today by the Navy SEALS.

So, The One is lucky this happened now - BEFORE he had his chance to decimate the military like Carter did. I just hope he remembers to thank George W. Bush (Yah - look for THAT to happen) for passing on to him a military capable of this type of thing. I guess he can add that to the things he 'inherited'.

Supreme (Court) Ego

If you are a follower of the Supreme Court, then you have heard about the flap over citing Foreign Law or court decisions in deciding Supreme Court cases here.

If not, here it is in a nutshell.

There are a group of folks, including some Supreme Court Justices, who think it is ok to reference Foreign Laws and Courts. Their reasoning is basically: 'Hey, there are lots of smart people in the world. We should try to learn what we can from them'.

There are another group of folks who say basically: "Hey - we are deciding American Constitutional issues. No Foreign Law or Court has anything to say about this most American of issues - our constitution."

The reason I have always thought that this matters: The REAL reason some judges want to appeal to Foreign reasoning is that they are trying to 'fix' the United States!. They do this by 'interpreting' the constitution so that it fits their pre-conceived notion. And as Mark Levin states

“The arbitrary application of foreign law — which provides an activist justice with an infinite smorgasbord of legal options — is a rejection of the predicate for America’s governmental system. And it lasts as long as the next opinion.”

It gives you a 'living' Constitution - which is, in reality, no Constitution at all. And it re-enforces the Liberal notion that the Constitution means what the Supreme Court says it means!

This is all well and good. You can agree with my take on it our not. But, in this article, a new wrinkle made its way into my thinking. Justice Ginsberg is quoted as saying:

She added that the failure to engage foreign decisions had resulted in diminished influence for the United States Supreme Court.

The Canadian Supreme Court, she said, is “probably cited more widely abroad than the U.S. Supreme Court.” There is one reason for that, she said: “You will not be listened to if you don’t listen to others.”

WOW! I find that STUNNING. A sitting member of our Supreme Court is worried about her global influence and that of the Court! We need to cite other courts so that they will cite ours! I say this is utter NONSENSE. I do not care what other countries think of how we adjudicate our own Constitutional issues. Our Constitution is unique in the world.

People, we are a great and unique country. The rest of the world has fallen behind us in nearly every way. Why then, should we look to a French or German court in deciding what OUR constitution means? We shouldn't. If you want to look around for ideas on education or tax policy, fine. But our Constitution is unique - looking elsewhere for advise on how to understand it is....embarrassing.

Somalian Pirates missed the memo - Obama is President

These Somali pirates are yet another turd in The Messiah's global Punchbowl.

It was bad enough when they were seizing ships in open water. But now, they have seized an American flagged vessel. The Messiah responded in the only way he could - sent the Navy to protect the ship. If this piracy thing keeps up - eventually the US Navy is going to wind up killing some poor Somalia. Or, a whole boatload of them. And all this time, I thought the world LOVES Obama. Don't the pirates know this is going to be hard on him?

This sucks for him. He just made a big splash by telling the world that the US apologizes for hating on Islam and Muslims. He admitted our 'mistakes' (without specifying exactly what they were). He said we are not 'at war with Islam'. And, we are not.

However, it appears that PARTS of Islam are at war with us. Somalia is a nearly 100% Muslim country. It follows that the Pirates are Muslim. They are attacking American Flagged vessels. This is bad juju. Now, it is POSSIBLE that a rogue band of Southern Baptist or Reformed Methodist Somalis is responsible for these attacks. This would be great for Obama's outreach to Muslims - but it seems... well.. unlikely.

Somalia was a British colony until 1960. In less that 50 years of self rule, the Sunni Muslims there have managed to completely destroy their own country. It is regarded as the most dangerous place on earth. Why do Muslims seem to have so much trouble trying to run an efficient, free, lawful, prosperous society. We know it has nothing to do with the fact that Islam is not just a religion but an integrated world view that harkens back to the 1400's. I wonder what else it could be?

I know that the Brits are pretty much out of their 'colonizing' phase. But, I guess it could not hurt to ask if they want back into Somalia! The only other option seems to be the UN! Hey - that just made me laugh out loud!

In this juicy article we have a story that serves as a useful reminder of the cost of freedom.

Seems out in Phoenix, there is a guy who does not like the Police. Apparently he felt mis-treated by the department. So, as seems reasonable, he started a blog called BadPhoenixCops.

At this blog he regularly criticizes, mocks, and exposes what he believes to be 'deficiencies' in the department. He counts on 'leaks' and internal memos forwarded to him by Phoenix Officers who support his efforts. His most dis-favored detective has earned the name 'Mr. Potato Head'.

Why do we care about this? Well, seems like the Phoenix police got pissed. Someone swore out some affadavits against this guy for 'felony computer tampering and misdemeanor property theft'. They seized his computers, electronic storage devices, etc.

He claims it is basically an attempt to shut him up. Well, for the Phoenix PDs sake - I hope to hell they have some REAL evidence of a REAL crime. If this IS an attempt to shut this guy up - This will end badly for the City.

On a broader scale. This is the kind of thing you expect of governments that are 'going bad'. Attempt to shut up the opposition. Now, this case is pretty much 'in your face'. But, there are more subtle ways. Speech codes at Universities, for instance. Trying to impose the so-called Fairness Doctrine is another. In Canada and Brittian, they have passed various laws about speaking against or criticizing various religions or other 'groups'. These laws are then used to silence people criticizing Muslin Extremism and Terrorism, Gay Marriage, or abortion rights - among others.

This kind of thing happens from time to time. City and/or government officials can do a very bone-headed thing. It is just good for us to take notice - and to realize how toxic this kind of official mis-conduct can be. Sometimes people say things with which you disagree or which you find offensive - deal with it. There is no constitutional right not to be offended.

Are you feeling safer? I am not.

This is some disturbing stuff. It is an article about Hillary's response to the Iranian claim that they have 7,000 centrifuges. You need centrifuges to purify Uranium. You need purified Uranium to build a bomb. If you are Iran, you need a bomb to follow through on your oft repeated threat to wipe Israel off the map. Blowing up Tel Aviv would probably suffice.

I wanted to focus on Hillary's response - since she is our chief diplomat

So basically, she is saying 'Yah, whatever'.
"We don't know what to believe about the Iranian program."

So I guess we should not expect a bold, hard-edged response from you if you don't even know what to believe

Well - if you are going to INSIST - That's different.

Really? What the hell was it then?

Look, this is pretty straightforward.

Iran has announced repeatedly that it is their desire to destroy Israel
The best way for them is to use a nuke
The have announced they have a vibrant nuclear program
They say it is for energy - but they have a bagillion barrels of oil - so probably not
They are enriching Uranium

It is not much of a stretch to see where this is going.

Israel will act on their own - in pre-emptive self defense before too long. The fact that the US has 'warned' them in public should not be taken seriously. Apparently, since the Messiah got elected, we no longer have the balls to do what is necessary. So, we will let our little brother, Israel, do it.

Folks - we need adults back in Washington before there is a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv. Then people will whine--why didn't we DO something to prevent this. The reason? You elected a person in BHO who just does not believe that there is evil in the world. He will though, when Iran shoves the fact right up his ass while we try to talk them to death. Obama will be the new Neville Chamberlain.

HUBRIS - Thy name is Obama

It just keeps getting better. As we all know, Man Made Global Warming is nonsense. Global warming is caused by an increase in the suns output. Higher CO2 levels are CAUSED by higher global temps - they are NOT the cause of them.

Coupled with that: the current planetary temperature computer models suck. If you put the ACTUAL data from 10 years ago into them - you get predictions of higher temperature for today. The actual result - the temperature is lower now that 10 years ago. Not only do the models get the size of the temperature change wrong - they get the DIRECTION of the change bass-ackwards. The reason? The models ignore the SUN - you know - the ultimate source of all energy on earth. That is like predicting the temperature in your house in the winter without factoring in the output of your furnace.

But, The Messiah is not letting these two facts stop him. According to this article, and here also, he is actually having people look at trying to artificially COOL the PLANET! Talk about HUBRIS. We don't understand the planet well enough to write a decent computer simulation. But, we are smart enough to figure out how to cool the planet (that does not need it to begin with!)????? And do it correctly? What BS.

They have a couple of brainstorms:

Make an 'artificial' volcano. The idea - spew masses of particles into the atmosphere. These particles will then reflect solar energy back into space. Really? Really? You are going to spew pollution in the air? You know what the global side effects will be? Did you do a good computer simulation? I didn't think so.
Come up with 'artificial' trees suck CO2 out of the air and store it. Are you kidding me? We are going to suck CO2 out of the air on a planetary scale? How would you even power such a device? What next, pump out the oceans? Who the hell are we kidding?

The idea is that we are going to deliberately 'fix' a non-existent problem without screwing up something else up BIG TIME. Hell - we can't even predict the current global temperature from historical data! Artificial volcanoes and CO2 sucking machines? Please tell me he is kidding. Please tell me this is a big April fools joke.

This is hope and change we can believe in? No, no it's not.

The Messiah promised to be a uniter. He promised to reach out to all of us. He was going to abandon the hard edged partisanship the he said characterized the Bush administration. He was going to bring us out together.

So, lets see how that is working out. This poll tells the answer - not very well.

Take a quick look at the results.

Basically, The Messiah is presiding over the most polarized presidency in history! Should one be surprised? I think not. Consider:

The House has COMPLETELY ignored any Republican input into any recent legislation. Just what they used to complain about when they were the minority
BHO is quoted as having said basically: We won, they lost. Nice way to bridge the gap.
He is pursuing very devisive issues: Fetal Stem Cell research, Working overturn all abortion laws - setting aside ALL state abortion laws
Pushing thru a budget that is a Liberal's wet dream. It is completely horrifying to most Republicans and all Conservatives. No middle ground here.
Pursuing more bailouts without regard to any opposing viewpoints.

So, speaking as a Conservative, it is perfectly predictable that he is so polarizing. And this will not change until he changes both this course and his tone. Don't hold your breath.

This is all a big lead-in to the 2010 House race. The Tea Parties on the 15th of April are the start. I look forward to a HUGE sea change in 2010 - up to and including the Republicans taking back the House.

Will this matter to The One? I doubt it. He is a hard-cored Statist. Maximizing the role of the Fed is his goal. I don't think he will let the fact that he is polarizing stand in his way. Because, remember: He won, we lost --- Deal with it.

Kim Jong Il, the pot-bellied dog-eater from the People's Paradise of North Korea, has delusions of grandeur. His 4th rate country just tested a long range missle. It is a precursor to having nuclear attack capability against South Korea, Japan, and soon - the US of A.

One has to wonder how they can pull this off. They are technologically ass-backwards. This is a photo of the Korean Peninsula at night. The tiny spot of light you see - that is the capital city. This is what a top down, command, communist economy yields.

But now, they are testing a long range missle. What should be done? I thought we should have sent a cruise missle in from a missle cruiser off-shore to destroy the rocket on the launch pad. Yah - the Chinese would bitch. But they need us as much as we need them. And - how much are they REALLY gonna risk for the likes of the little Dog-Eater?

A recent poll indicates that 57% of Americans favor a military response. Americans GET IT. They know a threat when they see one. They know when the use of force is justified. But, you can be sure that the Kenyan born Statist that lives in the White House is not among them.

B. Hussein Obama is calling on the UN to impose sanctions on the North Koreans! Really? Sanctions? Take a look at the photo. These guys are living in the stone age as it is. Their only source of anything is clearly the Chinese, with whom they share a border. The Chi-Coms will not honor sanctions (even if they don't veto them). So sanctions? Certainly a failing strategy.

But, that is what you would expect from The Messiah. Gotta reach out to our allies! Can't 'go it alone'. Can't be preemptive. That is the kind of strategy that will result in a nuke landing in Hawaii or maybe the socialist paradise of California.

If that happens - Kim Jong Il needs to be VERY careful-for he will have crossed the Rubicon. I am sure that exploding a nuke over US soil will yield the mother of all responses: A HARSHLY worded letter from the entire UN Security Council. Now THAT is what keeps dictators up at night.

What a fine mess

I have been watching the Messiah's reign unfold the last few weeks. Picking topics to write about has stressed me out. There is SO much wrong - but others are writing about it - and I hate being a 'me too' talking head.

But, my Spartans are in the finals tomorrow. And, thanks to my most excellent daughter - I have a primo ticket for the event.

I will take this momentary break in the 'fog of war' to just jot down some thoughts. Most are sobering - hopefully not all.

First - the embarrassing way the Messiah has acted on the world stage

He gave the Prime Minister of England a boxed set of movie DVDs as his introductory gift. Something you could buy at Walmart for 50 bucks.
He made a major breach in protocol surrounding the PMs visit. This indicates a disdain both for tradition, and for the Brits
He bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia! An American should bow to NO ONE. And that is exponentially true for POTUS. How demeaning!!
He was shown up by the Euro-weenies at the G20 summit. Being all apologetic and shit like that! STOP IT!!!
The little Dog Eater in North Korea launched his rocket. We let him. Lame. Then we issue a 'statement' of condemnation! Awesome.
In Prague he calls for a 'world without Nuclear weapons'. Then he says he is not naive!!! Folks, that is the definition of Naive. We have the North Koreans and the Iranians wanting to build them. He can't even use his influence to stop them. How in the hell does he expect everyone to give up their existing weapons? This is complete BS on a grand scale. It makes him look silly. The world is laughing at him... Nice. In this regard - he is nearly Biblical

Also, recently, The Messiah has been demonstrating his mastery in the field of automotive manufacturing!

He forced the CEO of GM, an American corporation, to resign. This is Banana Republic stuff. GM should be allowed an orderly bankruptcy. The government should have stayed out of it.
The Messiah's team also told GM and Chrysler that they had to stop being NASCAR sponsors. I am not a NASCAR fan - but, what the hell?
The One's team also said they want control over the salaries of a whole range of employees in the bailed out companies. This is yet another reason why the bailouts were such a bad idea. Now, the Feds want their tentacles in every orifice of these companies.
He has stated what kind of cars these companies must produce. Forget about supply and demand folks - this is 'command economy' stuff. Ask the former Soviet Union how that worked out for them.

On energy - Team B. Hussein Obama put another 2 million acres of land off-limits for domestic oil production. I would like an explanation as to how limiting our own domestic production advances the goal of breaking our dependence on foreign oil!! My suspicion: they are trying to drive the price of gas up so that we will be more likely to buy their stupid fuel efficient cars. You know, the toasters on wheels. Back when gas was 4 bucks a gallon - BHO said he did not mind that. He was just upset about how fast it got to 4 bucks. Wonderful.

But, on the good new front. 65 Democrat House members sent a letter to the AG Eric Holder. They told him they were opposed to a new so-called assault weapons ban. Also, they told him that they would 'actively' work against any attempt to re-impose that failed piece of legislation. Could it be - just maybe - that they finally got the message that America is a pro-gun country? And that poking your thumb in the eye of gun owners is a political loser?

And lastly. Our Dear Leader did a NCAA basketball bracket. Now, it is true that he picked UNC to win - and they are still alive. BUT!. I compared my bracket to his - my bracket DESTROYED his. Even if my dear Spartans lose on Monday - My bracket will have kicked the ass of the Kenya born Socialist all over the court!!!

Zero Tolerance - Of Using Judgement

I love Liberals - they can be so entertaining. In this article we learn of a new form of Zero Tolerance. In a previous, insightful, post I already gave my view of zero tolerance.

Today's lesson in Liberal Lunacy - A school principal, reacting to a child in Middle School getting kicked in the crotch, has instituted a NO TOUCHING policy. No touching, hugging, high-fives, etc. Yah, that kind of touching.

The line of reasoning (I use the term generously) seems to go like this: A student got hurt - this is bad. A form of touch (a kick) was the cause. Therefore some forms of touch must be bad. And since we, as Graduates of Schools of Education, are not capable of discerning between an 'ok' touch and a 'bad' touch - we will ban all forms of touch.

Parents and children, according to the article, are 'outraged'. I should say so. What would outrage me is how such an idiot could be the Principal of a school. Time for a recall election for all of the members of the Board of Education.

I doubt this rule will stand - the parents are likely to prevail. But, the fact that it was even proposed just gives a glimpse into what a screwed up world you have when you let Liberals has the levers of power.

April 15 will represent what I think will be a watershed event in the US. Nationwide, there are plans for hundreds of anti-government spending rallies. They are being advertised to play off the Boston Tea Party of the 1700s.

Pro-Abortion Rallies - Liberals
Million Man March - Liberals
Enviro-weenie Rallies - Liberals
'Civil Rights' Rallies - Race Baiting Poverty Pimps, blacks, and guilty white LIBERALS
Some number of millions of Liberals showed up for the Ascension of The Messiah

What is missing? Big rallies by conservatives. The reasons for this? Well, first of course, we conservatives all have jobs. Jobs which we need to keep so that we can pay the confiscatory tax rates necessary to fund all of the various liberal wet-dream programs.

Next reason? Well, we are not drawn to the 'feel goodism' of these rallies. Rather than get together and sing Kumbaya, we tend to put our heads down and get to work.

But now - these Tea Party rallies? Certain to be populated mostly by conservatives. Why? Well - primarily because we are PISSED. We see our country's foundations slipping away and we have had enough.

We tried to warn all of you about The Communist from Kenya - but you would not see the truth. Oh, no!, you said. He can't REALLY be a Socialist! He can't really have an anti-capitalist agenda in mind. He talks so nice. He is post-racial. He will bring us together. Well, as Dr. Phil likes to say, how is that working out for you? Not so well, it seems.

But, this is a man who surrounded himself with radicals and communists like Ayers, Frank Marshall Davis, Rev. Wright. He was a student of Saul Alinsky. He openly lamented that the supreme court had not gone far enough towards re-distribution of wealth. He complained that the constitution only says what the government can't do and not what it MUST do. Given that, what the hell surprises you about the outcome?

So, follow the link above and find a Tea Party to attend. Make sure you wear and/or display an anti-government slogan - or a 'militia' flag like this 'Gadsden Flag'.

This is important - because it identifies you are a possible 'domestic terrorist' or 'militia' member. This according to this brain damaged study referenced here. According to the brain trust that wrote this study, other things that could label you a domestic terrorist

You support a third party candidate like Bob Barr or Ron Paul
You display cartoons that make fun of the IRS, FBI, or UN
You display bumper stickers making fun of the above alphabet soups organizations
You display a 'militia' flag like the one above. Lest you forget, this was a flag from the First American Revolution
You read blogs that worry about the upcoming financial collapse of the US economy
You have an 'unusual' interest in guns. Unusual? If you are not interested in guns, I find YOU unusual.
You support the Libertarian Party. You know, that party that wants the government the hell out of things it has no business in.
You write, read, or display literature that questions the constitutional basis for Federal Government action! Imagine that - you have an interest in the constitution - you might be a terrorist. Thomas Jefferson, call your office.

Do any of these things describe you? Well, according to the State of Missouri, you too could be a domestic terrorist!

So, find a Tea Party rally near you on 15 April. Buy yourself some attractive anti-government bumper stickers or t-shirts. Buy a nice Gadsden Flag and fly it proudly (mine is on order). If it is legal in your area - Strap On you Glock or Smith and Wesson. Open carry is legal where I live - that thought (legal open carry) is enough to make most liberals actually wet themselves!

Make a sign. Use the words Socialist, Communist, No-Bama, No More Bailouts, or 'Dude, where's MY bailout! etc. Be prepared to be called a Nazi, Facist, Neo-Con, etc. Just smile - or not - your choice.

Let the bastards in Washington know you are sick of it. You are not going to take it anymore. The 2010 election is 19 months away. Let them know that payback is a bitch.

Is this the Democrats supporting our troops?

We have always known here at Right of Center that the Democrats in general, and the Liberals in particular, dislike the military. They dislike the concept, the mission, and the ethos involved. They belittle the warrior spirit - and find the patriotism found in the military an anachronism.

From John Kerry (did you know he served in Vietnam) saying our soldiers were terrorizing woman and children; to John Murtha calling them cold blooded killers; To Princess Pelosi working to undermine our bases in Turkey; To them all having voted to cut of aid to the troops; TO Harry Reid saying the war was lost and the surge had failed (before it had actually started;To Pelosi supporting Code Pink in their attempt to ban Military recruiters from Berkley;To them blaming our troops for the global 'cycle of violence'.

But, today we have reached a new low.

His Highness, the Lord Most Righteous Obama, has suggested that we change the rules on how we pay for care our troops who have been injured in battle. Currently, the Veterans Administration covers their medical costs. This is how is has always been. This is how it should be. These are our wounded warriors. These are the men and women who go into harms way to protect and defend the rest of us. The least we can do is to care for them should any harm befall them.

The Messiah's idea? Make these heroes private insurance reimburse the VA for the cost of their care!! In essence, make the troops responsible for their own, combat related, injuries. What ass-wipe in the White House thought of this. It is as bad an idea as I have heard from them - and I have heard some doozies.

First - we owe it to the soldiers to treat them better than this. Our paying for their care is an essential part of the fabric of the military. This, then, must be why The Messiah and his minions have chosen to attack.

And, from a practical level, will an ex-soldier ever expect to get insurance? Or get a job that offers insurance. If the insurance carrier knows, in advance, the possible extent of the expenses involved. These questions should never had had to be ask.

Further - B. Hussein wants to nationalize Health Care for all of us. Why in the hell then would he do this to soldiers? The VA is already a form of Nationalized Health Care - the Liberal wet dream (which helps explain it's wide spread deficiencies). So - it is nationalized and he wants to re-privatize it, while at the same time nationalize care for you and me?? What the hell?

It is clear. The Libs dislike the Military to the extreme. They have shown it over and over by both word and deed. Shame on them. But, shame has no meaning to them. They are all about power, control, and retribution. They are not happy we won in Iraq - it did not fit the template the Bush was a liar and bumbler.

Maybe this is a way for them to extract some small amount of revenge for having been shown 100% wrong on Iraq. F- them .. F- all of them

Let's Review What SHOULD be the Limits on the Federal Government

In the Constitution (for those of you that went to public school - it is one of our Founding Documents), there is a description of the allowed powers of the Federal Government. The list is not very long, so let's review:

Section 8 - Powers of Congress

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States
.... Notice the term 'common Defense and 'general' Welfare'. More about that later
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
....This they have taken to heart
To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;
...This talks about 'commerce' - like trading between the states. This disallows, for instance, one State to tax anothers imports.
To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;
...Pretty self explanatory
To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;
...Again, pretty straightforward
To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;
...Ditto
To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;
...Ok, let's be take a liberal interpretation for today - and say this is roads and highways.

We should also look immediately at the 10th amendment. The list above tells Congress what it can do. The 10th clarifies the question 'what about things we didn't mention?':

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

This means - If we did not tell the Feds, in the constitution, that they can do...then they can't. It is up to the States - or directly to us, the people.

And folks, that's it. Let's look at the purpose as noted:

'For the defense and GENERAL Welfare....'

'General' means 'for everyone, for most people'. It does not say 'specific'. So, the Feds were supposed to be limited to doing things for the public. Parks, roads, defend the country. Things that would be too big for a city or state to do.

It does NOT mean taking my money and giving it to you. That would be for your SPECIFIC welfare.

Let's make a quick list of things NOT given to Congress to do. They SHOULD be, then, left to the States.

A Federal Department of Education
A Federal Department of the Interior
A Federal Department of Health and Human Services
A Federal Department of Transportation for anything other that building roads
A Federal Welfare program. Because, as we noticed - there is no provision for transferring wealth from one person to another.
Social Security
OSHA
The Environmental Protection Agency
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Any Federal Gun Laws
Any Federal Hate Crime Laws

You get the idea. That is MOST of what we have allowed the Congress Critters to screw up on our behalf.

These bastards try to sit there in New York and tell us that we to do this or that to satisfy the 'world community'. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damned about the 'world community' when it comes to their opinion of our foreign policy. We should do what is best for US - let the rest of the world do likewise.

What has my hackles up today? Well, as you can read in this article, some ass-clown at the UN is calling us 'deadbeat donors'! Talk about balls! We already pay WAY more than our 'fair share'. We let the 3rd world thug dictators into this country under the guise of being a 'diplomat'. And they are exempt from our laws while they are here.

Then we have to sit and listen to them bad mouth US. They sit in our own house and preach to US?? They also bad mouth Israel while they are at it.

I say US out of the UN and UN out of the US. Let them meet in Brussels. Most of them would fit right in if the UN moved to Venezuela.

This a quick follow on to our post about the hypocrisy of Congress when it comes to energy policy. This post talks about the hypocrisy of Congress when it comes to Taxes.

As we pointed out in a previous post, Charles Rangel is a Congressman from Harlem. He heads the Ways and Means committee. This committee writes all of the tax legislation that craps on your life on a daily basis.

Ol Charlie has tax problems. He did not pay taxes on rental property he owns in the Dominican Republic. At various times he blamed his memory, his accountant, and said the tax code (that he wrote) was 'too complicated'. As Jay Leno said "If it is too complicated for Rangel, how screwed are WE?'

Any way - a guy named Jason Mattera confronted Rangel about this. In a video taped exchange Jason pressed Rangel on a number is issues, including why he failed to pay his taxes. Rangel's response:

Why don't you mind your God Damned business

Awesome. Basically, he told all of us to mind our own business.

New Flash Charles, you ass-clown. Your screwing around with the tax code - and your failure to live up to it -- IS OUR GOD DAMNED BUSINESS.

The hypocrisy is illuminating. Last year, Queen Pelosi bragged that Congress would be 'Carbon Neutral'. This was to be her response to the non-existent problem of too much man-made carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

The plan was to buy 'offsets'. Offsets supposedly are projects that remove as much carbon dioxide from the air as you are putting into the air. In truth, these are just boondoggle projects designed to move money from industrial interests (power plants) to enviro-weenie projects (planting tress). It forms the basis for the upcoming trillion dollar stealth tax on you and me known as 'cap and trade'. The 'cap' is how much CO2 you are 'allowed' to produce. The 'trade' is you giving money to someone else for the right to produce more that your 'cap'.

So, how did Congress's grand commitment work out? Well, as you would expect - it fizzled before it started. As this article so nicely points out. The problem? Well, no one has a good way of knowing if you are 'carbon neutral' and the 'bothered' them!!! There is also 'inconsistency' in the offset market. Really??? Who would have thought that an endeavor completely at odds with science would have trouble with standards?

So, Congress completely failed. But, do not despair! Just because they failed does NOT mean they will not shackle the rest of us with the requirement to 'try'. It will cost BILLIONS in higher energy costs - and hence higher prices for everything. It will put coal (where we get 48% of our electricity) near bankruptcy. But, this is what the enviro-weenies seem to want.

I say, let THEM sit in the dark then. But, they won't. Because, always remember - Liberals never want to live in the world that they are trying to create for YOU.

This article describes something that is freaking stunning! It will take a minute to explain, so follow along. As you read - ask yourself - why does anyone care today?

About 100 years ago, several hundred thousand Armenians were killed in 'some kind' of conflict. The nature of that conflict is a very emotional issue to those involved.

The Armenians claim it was a Genocide against them brought on by the Turks,

The Turks say otherwise, saying it was some type of Armenian Civil conflict.

A hundred years have passed.

In 2007 a group of Jackass Democrats in Congress tried, unsuccessfully, to pass a Resolution labeling these deaths (100 years ago, remember) a Genocide. The Turks responded by threatening to withdraw their (very critical) permission for us to transit Turkey while pursuing the Iraq war. Ah-HAH! There it is.

We have found the answer to the 'why does anyone care' question. It is the REAL reason the Democrats give a damned about a 100 year old incident. Doing so would piss of the Turks. They will be less cooperative with the Military. This seems to please the Democrats!! It was a way to damage the Iraq war effort indirectly. I know, I know - that is a harsh accusation. And the Congress-critters appear to be at it again in 2009. Adding fire to this - the Messiah, on the campaign trail, announced he would recognize the deaths of the Armenians as a GENOCIDE.

At this point - why are they bothering? The Iraq war is essentially won (no thanks to the Democrats). So, perhaps, it is their way of 'punishing' Turkey for helping in the victory in Iraq that all of the Democrats so fervently hope would not happen. You think that harsh? Go back and reading all of the supportive things ANY Democrat said back then. Good Luck finding any. But I digress.

Here we are in the middle of an economic mess. Recession - here, Depression - Looming. Yet, Congress finds the time to voice an opinion about a 100 year old event. They know full well that doing so will piss of an ally. And further, taking this action will benefit the United States absolutely ZERO.

Is this what the Messiah talked about when he talked about building a 'new' global structure. Step one - piss off all the people who are currently your allies? I mean, my God, he wants to talk to the Taliban!!!! Can't congress find SOME resolution to condemn the Taliban for SOMETHING? No, they don't seem to be able to!!! But they want to poke a stick in the eye of a key ally in a very troubled part of the world. Who voted for these idiots?

Ok - Time for some crazy talk

We try to stay on point - and to 'keep it real' here. But, once in a while we get taken away in a flight of fancy. This is one of those times.

Now, you know we love Thomas Jefferson here. At one time in his career as our country's most brilliant founder, he wrote:

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

For those of you that spent your formative years in public city schools, that is from the Declaration of Independence. It formed the basis for our break from the English Crown - and the emergence of the US, the greatest country ever known.

Now, there are those out there, in increasing numbers, that think we are headed down the same road. The difference, of course, is that we are not dealing with a king. Instead, the people in this country voted for the twits that are now racing this country towards all out Socialism. So what is to be done?

Well, the most popular, and practical, is for a state or states to move on their own to re-establish a just government. To do this, though, you would need to be free of Federal entanglements. How could a State do this? Well - by succeeding from the Union and forming their own independent country!

I told you it was time for crazy talk. Oklahoma and Texas have both made noise in that direction. As, in the past, have a couple of Western States. My vote would be for a state with an ocean port - gotta get your goods in somewhere. It would have to be a very gun friendly state - no need to dwell on THAT. A state where the National Guard would ignore a federalization order.

Alaska would be nice. It is far away and hard to get to. Kind of cold, so dress warm. Sarah is already there...So I think we would be welcomed. They have lots of oil - so money would not be problem. There would be no fighting for land to build on.

Just some food for thought. Things are going to get bad here - and sooner rather than later. When you need some thought to help you escape our reality here --- think the Independent Commonwealth of Alaska!

As we pointed out here in a previous post, we think The Messiah's idea saying he will close Guantanamo is a truly bad idea. Turns out, there are truly bad people being held there!

Reading this story from the AP, it seems that this fact may have finally dawned on the new dimwit running the Justice Department, Eric 'I love gun control' Holder.

AG Holder says closing Guantanamo won't be easy
WASHINGTON (AP) - Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday the Guantanamo detention center is a well-run, professional facility that will be difficult to close—but he's still going to do it. Holder visited the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, on Monday and spoke to reporters about his trip during a news conference Wednesday.

Closing Guantanamo, he said, "will not be an easy process. It's one we will do in a way that ensures that people are treated fairly and that the American people are kept safe."

President Barack Obama selected Holder to lead the new administration's effort to close the detention facility within a year.

Much of the year will be spent reviewing the individual case histories of the roughly 245 inmates, the attorney general said.

"It's going to take us a good portion of that time to look at all of the files that we have to examine, until we get our hands around what Guantanamo is, and also what Guantanamo was," he said.

Holder said his visit to the site was instructive. He met with military officials and toured the facilities, including the court setting where military commissions were to be held until Obama suspended them.

He said he did not witness any rough treatment of detainees, and in fact found the military staff and leadership performing admirably.

"I did not witness any mistreatment of prisoners. I think, to the contrary, what I saw was a very conscious attempt by these guards to conduct themselves in an appropriate way," he said.

The attorney general said none of those impressions alters the administration's goal of closing Guantanamo by January 2010.

"It does not in any way decrease our determination to close the facility, even though as I said it is being well-run now," he said.

In his confirmation hearings before the Senate, Holder said lawyers will have to examine each detainee's case, and determine who can be brought to the U.S. for a criminal trial, sent to foreign countries or tried and held by the U.S. in some other fashion.

Now, really? It will be hard! Shocking. Our allies have already said they will not take any 'really' bad guys. Well, we already let the 'good' ones go. And, it turns out, a good number of them are already back at the Jihad.

So, our allies won't take them. It is a bad deal to bring them to US soil. The liberals want to treat them like common criminals. You know, lawyers, rules of evidence, etc. etc. Problem is, these guys are enemy combatants. They were trying to kill our soldiers. Never in our history have we extended people like like civil trials - it is just a BAD idea.

So, can't send them to our allies. Should not bring them here. What is left? Send them back to whatever hell hole, American hating country they came from?

If we do that to 245 Jihadists - you will be able to time with a stopwatch how long it will be before the next American gets killed by these vermin.

Yes, Mr. Holder - doing the stupid thing - Closing Gitmo - SHOULD be hard. So hard in fact, that you should give up the idea before you do something really, really stupid and wind up getting some us killed.

I gave your shoes to one of the homeless guys over by Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all of the cash in your wallet, then I threw the wallet itself in a dumpster.

I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell. They'll be on your bill in case you'd like to know which ones. Alltel recently shut down the line, and I've only had the phone for a little over a day now, so I don't know what's going on with that. I hope they haven't permanently cut off your service. I was about to make some threatening phone calls to the DA's office with it. Oh well.

These articles basically say: Global warming is not man-made. It is a natural cycle, and the Sun has a lot to do with it!! I know, shocking!

Islam's continuing problem of violence

In a tragic case, a Muslim woman, Aasiya Hassan, was murdered and subsequently beheaded by her husband. Her crime? Filing for divorce!

Now, was this some wild-eyed terrorist type? Did he pose with his AK-47? Did he record himself saying 'Allahu Akbar'? No.

This couple had founded a TV network aimed at improving the image of Islam and Muslims in the US! Needless to say, that is not working out so well now.

As you might expect, this story has garnered a lot of attention in the press. Recently, though the 'tone' has changed. A recent AP article is an example.

The spin - violence against women is a problem that needs to be addressed. Sorry - completely wrong emphasis. Yes, violence against women is a big problem. But, let's be honest. Violence against women is when some schlub punches his wife because he is drunk and she is 'not listening'. When was the last time you read about an 'American' beheading his wife? Yah, me either.

Beheadings seem to be pretty much a Muslim thing. And, one should point out, not limited to wives who are divorcing you. Muslims really need to do some 21st century soul searching. The type the Catholic church had to do after the Inquisitions. The whole bloody Jihad against the infidel is pretty 7th century.

Islam struggles with a distinction between religion and politics. In the west, this is an established, respected idea. Everyone is free to have their religion. Your view of politics is informed by your faith. But, and this is the big deal, your politics operates outside the control of whatever religion (or lack there of) that you happen to practice. Moral issues like abortion cause heated debates - but this is the exception.

In Islam, as we see it practiced most places, EVERYTHING in politics is viewed through the prism of religion. They are two sides of the same coin.

So, I am not buying into the spin surrounding this article. Here we have a pissed off, though generally peaceful, man beheading his wife in the style set forth by his holy text. The other adherents to his faith try to distract us by moralizing about 'violence against women'.

The real issue that they need to be confronting - how are they going to move beyond the whole 'death to infidels' thing? It is a long journey from the 7th century to the 21st - time to start packing for the trip.

View of today's American from Past Presidents

We have some Giants in our history. Men who formed this country. Scholars, statesmen, true intellectuals (not what populates our colleges today). These men had a classical education. They could comment on the works of Greek philosophers after having read their work in the original language. Today we have Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barney Frank!

John Kennedy knew this. He spoke these words to a group of 'really smart people' who were gathered at the White House:

I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of Human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House -- with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

Why do I bring this up? Jefferson left us with a good understanding of his view of history, as well as of the future. We really don't have to 'wonder' what he would think about the events of today - I believe we already know.

The Democrats are all patting themselves on the back having just passed the Porkulis bill. The Republicans have plenty to be ashamed of - given the way they spent money the last 6 years. With all that is going on, we should ask WWJS. What would Jefferson say?

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government

We already have way to much - and we are getting ready to make it exponentially worse. The Republicans TALK about smaller government - but do the opposite. The Dems are genetically unable to even utter the phrase.

“To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical,”

Well, this has been going on for decades. And as far as Porkulis is concerned. 65+% of the people say NO - but congress says 'The hell with you - we won the election, get out of our way'.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them

and

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”

Well, Porkulis strikes again! The rationale for the TRILLION plus in spending? Well, if we don't do 'something', people will suffer.

It seems like Jefferson does not think that is governments role. Neither, as it turns out, can we afford it. It also turns out, that most of the spending in Porkulis would have been viewed as unconstitutional by the guy that wrote the constitution.

Think of that! We have strayed very far from the meaning of the constitution. I frankly do not give a damned how the Supreme Court of today 'interprets' Jefferson's meaning in the constitution. Not when I can read the thoughts of Jefferson himself.

Some other pretty smart guys have weighed in along these lines. Lincoln (the REAL Lincoln - not Oba-Lincoln) said:

“When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”

Based on that, the end is near. Or, it has already arrived and we just don't realize it yet.

Calvin Coolidge (Ok- he is a light-weight - but he managed to say something profound):

“We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”

Yah - too late for that.

Folks - these guys are right about several things:

The Constitution forbids the kind of wealth transfer going on today.
Our form of government will not survive the wholesale theft, through taxes, of wealth from one so that it can be bestowed on another
Our government has gotten too large to not become tyrannical
The principle of higher taxes to help the economy is foolishness on its face

But, history also tells us that be have crossed the Rubicon. What is done is done. As Caesar said prior to crossing the literal Rubicon - The Die is Cast.

Bill Press, a non-consequential member of the Liberal talking head class, let slip the real reason he favors the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

First, Press was on with Megan Kelly on Fox. He got, I think, kicked around by Megan on the issue of letting the market decide what kind of Talk radio should be on.

Later, he went on WOR and admitted, in this exchange on air this tidbit (the quote is at about 8 minutes in):

I know why I’m interested in it because I get up every morning at 3:45, I do three hours of talk radio every day from six to nine, that’s my life, it’s my business, I want to make money at it, and I want to be heard

Ahhh - the truth comes out!!! He wants the 'Fairness Doctrine' because he wants to make money and he wants to be hear! Poor Bill..... I want people to read my blog - but I am not running to the FCC because it is not happening at the speed I would like.

Bill, the reason you don't make money is because you are not heard. The reason you are not heard is because no one WANTS to listen! Forcing radio stations to carry you will not force people to listen.... It is all about the MARKET, Bill.

In a recent article in the LA Times, a concern about drug resistant bacteria was examined. These infections typically attack people that are in a weakened condition - like those you find in hospitals.

Turns out, this is turning into a serious problem. The infections are of a type known as gram-negative. They are tough to kill. More troubling, they are developing resistance to our 'drugs of last resort'.

This type of infection recently killed Miss Brazil. She initially had a urinary tract infection. She wound up losing her hands, her feet, her kidneys, and finally - her life.

So, why post a blog about this? Because we are heading down a road where we will see more of this.

The Federal Government is taking over more and more of the health care in this country. Along with that, they will more tightly control the flow of funding in the health care sector. This could well lead the evil drug companies to re-think the massive investment needed to bring cutting edge drugs to market. It costs hundreds of millions of dollars to bring a new drug to market. This is due to the length of time (10 years) required to pass FDA screening. The 'F' in FDA is FEDERAL.

So, not only will the FEDs control the approval process, they are now positioned to also control the price the companies can charge. If you were a business, is that where you would choose to invest your stockholders capital? I doubt it.

They will revert to making cold pills, acne cream, or anything else the government deems to be 'cost effective'.

Just hope you don't contract MRSA,Pseudomonas aeruginosa, or some other resistant bacteria while you are in the hospital. There probably won't be any 'cost effective' medications for you. Goodbye hands, feet, kidneys....life.

One, Two, Three, Eleven, Eleventy-Three

I like to watch Sesame street with my two-ish year old grand-daughters. One of my favorites is 'The Count'. You know, the Dracula-lite little puppet that is always counting things.

Well, Count, it seems you will be needed in Washington soon. And take Oscar the garbage-can dwelling Grouch with you. We need you for your counting skills, and Oscar for his ability to deal with GARBAGE.

I case you haven't read about it, the White House (read The Messiah and his mini-me Rahm Emanuel, are moving to take DIRECT control of the 2010 census!! It has historically been done by the Commerce Department (it was about the only thing they actually did, as far as anyone knows). But no more.

Why is this a concern. Well, it seems The Messiah does not think all that 'counting' is really that big of a deal. Instead, the Democrats want to use something called 'statistical sampling'. The idea here is 1) you count the best you can, the 2) you make up the final numbers based on 'statisitics'. Remember, figures don't lie, but liars can figure.

So, here is how it will play out. We will have the pretext of an actual count. Then, Rahm and his boys will apply 'factors', 'weightings', 'normalizations', and possibly even 'correlation coefficients' to come up with the final result.

I will save you the suspense, here is what the net result will be. Areas that voted 'Blue' in the last election will gain people - a LOT of people. The 'Red' areas will lose people. This will mean several things. First, we will probably have a couple of extra Democratic congress-critters in the next congress (unless things keep going like they have the last couple weeks - in which case little can be done to save the Dems). Also, the big cities, where all of these 'new' citizens will be found to be living, will get an extra chunk from suckling at the Federal Teat.

With all that is going on - will anyone notice? Or care? Probably - a little. But it won't matter. Because, BHO is taking a page right out of the 'Dictators Handbook'. Ok, I made that up. But if there were such a thing - one of the rules would be - do whatever is needed to distort the outcomes of elections in your favor. The Messiah is doing it preemptively...good strategy. Omerika - can you here us yet?

Guess what was slipped into the recently passed 'Porkulis' economic stimulus bill?? We have taken a huge first step towards the Federal Government having final say over what health care you can get!! This is the same bunch that brought you

Public Education (Broken)
Social Security (Bankrupt)
Congress (Clueless)
The BWM (Inefficient)
Welfare (Destroyed the Black Family)
The Tax Code (Bloated)
The IRS and BATF (Oppressive)

So forgive me if I am less than enthusiastic about the Feds wading any further into health card.

What is it, exactly, that they have done in the Porkulis bill that will lead to Nationalized Health Care? Well, two things actually.
First, they have are creating a nationwide data base to collect all of YOUR health records in one place. This is coupled with an organization that is supposed to research the 'effectiveness' of treatments - with the goal of 'assisting' your doctor in selecting the most 'effective' treatment.

There in lies the rub! The government's idea of 'effectiveness' will factor in, very heavily, the idea of 'cost effective'. This article gives a couple of specific examples.

Treatments for older Americans will be limited. They have fewer years to benefit from a treatment. Treatments for them are then, by definition, less 'cost' effective than a similar treatment for younger folks.

Now, the argument will be made that this bill does not ACTUALLY put these controls in place. True enough - for now. But, that is just a temporary reprieve for us. Let's face it, once they have this huge database, and they have been doing 'research' on cost-effectiveness - you honestly think they will stop there? Hardly.

The draw will be too great. A couple of simple changes in the language of this bill by a subsequent Congress, and presto-chango - the Federal Government controlled doctor will see you now. Or not, depending on how cost effective treating you is.

This same concept is what drives us Gun Owners to so forcefully resist any type of gun registration. Once they have you all registered - what will they do with that data. It lets them put in tighter controls (make felons out of lawful gun owners where no felon existed before), or as a tool for eventual confiscation (like happened in England and Australia).

Lists and/or databases in the hands of bureaucrats are a dangerous thing. You cannot count on them to limit their use to the original purpose. In fact, you can count on them making mischief with the data. That kind of data concentrated in one place is just too much a temptation.

Folks, why are we allowing this? My God - look at what the Federal Government meddles in already!! And now, do you want them to put themselves in the position to decide which medical treatment your doctor can choose for you? Heaven help us!!

In a truly audacious comment, Slick Willie Clinton said, in answer to the amazing question "Is it time for some type of media accountability?

"Well, you either ought to have the Fairness Doctrine or we ought to have more balance on the other side," Clinton said, "because essentially there's always been a lot of big money to support the right wing talk shows and let face it, you know, Rush Limbaugh is fairly entertaining even when he is saying things that I think are ridiculous.

Now, let's examine this statement, which is actually quite illustrative.

For those of you who went to public school, let me remind you what the First Amendment to the Constitution says (Yes, it was written by dead white men, deal with it)

Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech...

Now, that seems quite clear to me. What confuses me is how the hell you reconcile that with 'enforced media accountability'. Who the hell does Congress think they are??

Clinton says we need 'balance'. No one is stopping any Liberal who wants to from taking to the air waves and competing in the marketplace of ideas. Air America tried, several times. Of course, their audience numbered in the dozens and they failed repeatedly. Why is that?

Clinton would have you believe that there is more money to fund conservative talk. How can this possibly be true? Obama out-raised McCain by 4 to 1! There is clearly plenty of Liberal money out there.

But next, Clinton slips up and admits the truth.

Rush Limbaugh is fairly entertaining

Ah hah - we have a winner ladies and gentlemen. Clinton gives Rush props that he is entertaining. (Now, he did only say 'fairly' entertaining. But coming from a Liberal, this is high praise indeed).Which must mean, by comparison, he knows that Liberal Radio is NOT entertaining. Well, duh!! If it was entertaining, it would not fail every time it is tried.

So, what are we left with? If you want to force 'balance', you have two choices. You can build up the smaller, or tear down the larger.

1) Increase the listenership of Liberal talk. It is unclear to me how one would do this. People have tried - they have failed. The Liberals on the radio are all angry - and not the least bit funny or entertaining.

2) You can DECREASE the availability of Conservative talk. This is the true goal. The Liberals are pissed about talk radio - shutting it down is their answer.

By the way, where is the call for 'balance' in TV news? One the Liberal side: ABC,NBC,CBS,MSNBC,CNN, and CNBC. One the Conservative side: Fox.

When the leveling wind of socialism, dictatorship, or censorship blows -- it does not level by filling in the low spots and valleys. No. It levels by flattening out the high spots.

Those high spots, successful people, are the result of those people exercising their freedom to engage in commerce and in the marketplace of ideas. This notion of government imposed 'balance' is nothing more that squashing down the successful in order to make the 'losers' in the game feel 'better' about themselves. I don't give a damned about 'balance' our the self esteem of the Liberal talks hosts or of the Congress-critters who have their feelings hurt by what is said about them on the radio.

All I give a damned about is Freedom - and about getting the Government to back the hell up away from trying to take our Freedoms away. It has been a long, slow drain. But, with The Messiah in office - I see sure signs that the brakes are coming off. They want to regulate every aspect of the economy (the bail-outs and the 'stimulus' package are the tools), how we utilize our resources (through environmental laws) , and now - how much speech we are allowed to engage it.

People, wake up! This is nothing short of tyranny. If this trend continues and is enforced, I shall be forced to review with my readers another of our Founding documents, the Declaration of Independence. In particular, the Preamble. To wit:
